USU game trophy and logo

Uh yeah pretty much every single Big10 game is a trophy game.

The Little Brown Jug.

Plus, this is the first Wyo has had 3. Not like we have always had this.

As a guy who both loves and owns guns, color me shocked and delighted that this is actually being permitted in today's sick and twisted PC world.

On another note -- is there a college football team anywhere that plays for more 'trophies' than does Wyoming?

Notre Dame and most Big Ten schools play for 2-3 trophies a year. People act like the Paniolo Trophy is new, but we have played for that one for quite awhile, just not recently.

Utah State fan here.

I guess this is as good a thread as any for a few pre-game thoughts.

Obviously, I hope we beat you guys tomorrow. I will always want my guys to win. I really do feel badly that it will come at Wyoming's expense. I'm 56 years old. I don't remember my first Aggie football game. My parents were both Aggies, and we always had season tickets. I'm old enough to remember when Aggie-Cowboy football was a big deal. My dad always said the 1961 6-6 tie was the best college football game he ever saw in his life. I'm very happy that my Aggies have found a home after wandering in the wilderness for 52 years. The Mountain West feels like where we always should have been. Keep the PAC-12 and the Big-12. I have no higher aspiration for my guys than playing Wyoming, CSU, AFA, UNM, and Nevada. The other schools, for me, are just filler.

I feel for Brett Smith. For the last 11 years, I've lived in West Salem, Oregon. My girls attended/attend the high school that Brett went to. He's a great kid, not just a great athlete. I hope your program can pull itself together for his senior year. He deserves it. Again, it kills me that I have to root against him tomorrow.

Don't be too down on the program. Hey, I'm an Aggie! I know something about being a fan of a program that's landed on hard times. Wyoming has a great tradition. You have too much going for you to stay down for very long. Rally around your kids. Don't waste energy fighting amongst yourselves.

So, here's to a great game tomorrow. Here's to no injuries.

Classy post partner, glad to renew one of our oldest and best rivalries. Games with BYU and CSU are spiteful things. Like a fight with some demented asshole thats threatening to rob your girl. I'm an old man with a looong memory and I've hated both teams since I can remember.... and that was even though my father played for CSU after the war in the REAL olden days. I still hope both these teams lose every week and I have since I was a child.

But I like USU, maybe its because I had a girlfriend there once-and have fond memories of the town and the team. But I think its because they are humble-and because they despise UU and BYU as much as we do-or more, and like the feller that posted above,,,seems like they've always got a classy fan base. Week in and week out I kinda watch our for them, and hope they win.

The UW/USU rivalry has a long and storied history-one of our oldest rivalries in fact.... but there is no hatred....

the stakes are more like a pissing match on a cold morning with your brother to determine who's bucking bales out of the back of the truck and who's driving through the herd

and unless the wind kicks up while USU is pissin, it looks like we buck bales this week.

Still in all, Go pokes

I really enjoyed reading this post and appreciate fans like you who can root for your team to win, but at the same time be classy and respectable about it.

Realistically I don't see us beating you, but that doesn't mean I still can't hope we can win even if every fact and person says otherwise haha.

I wish you and your Aggies all the best the rest of the season and will hope for a hard fought and injury free game!

GO POKES lets win this :D

Chin up, guys. Like I said, Wyoming has too much going for it to stay down very long. You guys have some great players. When Smith is playing behind a more seasoned offensive line next year, you're really going to light some folks up.

I'm happy we have the rifle for now. I know we won't have it forever. I'm happier that we're resuming a classic college football series. Good luck in basketball, and good luck next year in football.

Go Pokes! Go AGGIES!

Thanks I think it fair to say most Aggie fans look for Wyoming to win week in and week out too. As for who hates yBu or Ewetah the most may be up for debate but at least we all know who the enemies are (LOL). BTW, your fans at the game were classy. When BYU comes to town you never know what is going to happen and Utah is getting worse all the time. It's nice to have a rivalry with a team and fan base you can like and respect. Look forward to some BB soon.

Good to hear from the Aggies. Best of luck to you guys next weekend. For us, we're just glad this season is over but we'll be back for that rifle!

Yep.

Other than StanfordAggie (on the MWCboard) the Aggie fans have been pretty good.
