USA Today CFB Countdown UW #90

Wish they would have made a more concrete prediction. Very rarely does the absolute best or absolute worst scenarios play out that way. Its usually always somewhere in between.
 
About as fair as I have seen, until we show that we deserve more respect we will continue to be rated low even with one of the best QBs in the country and arguably the one of the best wr corps in the mtn west.
 
I have yet to find a reason why we would deserve anything higher. Even with a stud QB, it doesn't matter with quite possibly the worst defense in the country and returning from a 4 win season. Every writer in the country knows about our defense, but we turn a blind eye and pretend all is well because of Brett and our WRs.
 
I don't think we turn a blind eye on our d but it is the white elephant in the room where nobody talks about it because of the glaring needs up front. I agree with the writer saying if we can even mediocre at d we will have a pretty decent year but if they continue to struggle we will be relying on Smitty more often than not and the season could south in hurry. We are in for a couple of old school WAC shootouts I think. Our schedule couldn't have worked out much better, get on roll early and see what happens after our second bye in the meat and taters of the schedule.
