Updated Football Schedule

Great. get to lose is that stupid field house dome thing
To the former OC who gets paid less than Sawful and apparently has not had to learn how to be a HC.

It might even be possible that Polasek was able to accurately evaluate the talent on the team whereas Sawful and staff just recently realized they had a lack of offense with significant QB issues going into year 3.

Wyoming no longer playing Nevada next year. Instead, we travel to Fargo. Tough place to play in NDSU’s first season.
Part of me isn't sure why the MW didn't just go to a 9-game conference schedule, does Air Force need a game against Duquesne? Does Nevada need to travel to Middle Tennessee? I understand contracts were set up for this season that probably stopped it from happening but if we don't see them go to 9 games (assuming membership stays at 10), I'll be very confused

It will more than likely be 9 game next year. Next to impossible to make it happen this year and assume the money lost was not worth it. Air Force loves to beat up on bottom FCS teams to start the season each year.

That would make sense, it'll be interesting to see which games get dropped, I could see UW dropping the North Texas game next year or Idaho State in '28 (Akron might as well be an FCS game anyways). Alot of games will need to be rescheduled since we've got 4 OoC games the all the way to 2030, and 2032 as well. I can see some games being pushed to 2031 where the only OoC game is the sheep.

Also, why on god's green earth are we playing Western Illinois in '29. I get playing an FCS school, but we couldn't find a team that has a .500 conference record since 2017? That school would probably struggle in the damn MIAA, Pitt State would slap em silly

I don't know man. I see 3-3.
I am having a hard time at the present of anything beyond these games:

No Colo
NIU

If I were a positive Poke fan I would expect wins in all 6 games but I suffer mentally from a Sawful case of Burmanitis which makes positive thoughts a challenge. I refuse to take the brown and gold rah rah pills because the side effects are catastrophically damaging when they quit working as intended.

Took a script from AFA to play a weaker FCS team to draw the fans in. Also teams can rebuilt way differently in the portal era so a poor team now does not translate to a poor team in '29. I doubt they drop North but could see Akron getting the boot. A lot of this depends on the contracts that were signed.

Air Force is never agreeing to a 9 game conference schedule given their annual CIC games and their desire to play 1 FCS game a year. In fact, pretty sure that was part of the MOU terms provided for Air Force to agree to stay in the MWC.

If Air Force didn’t sign the MOU, Air Force was gone to the AAC for football and UNLV was gone to the PAC and there is no MWC and Wyoming is talking about its CUSA schedule against Sam Houston State.

Wyoming isn’t dropping any game. 8 game conference schedules will be the same until 2031 absent Air Force leaving the conference (unlikely given the GOR).
