UNLV

I don't know how many of the people on this board live out of Laramie, but go to the girl's games instead of watching the guys on TV. And you can't say girls bball is lame! The Wyoming Men's team is lame!

Sorry. I'm just on a rant because I came home from watching the cowgirls dismantle UNLV by 50 to see the cowboy's 8 point lead turn into a 6 point deficit in 7 minutes.

UNLV defenders can stick like glue to their Poke counterpart, but the Pokes can't return the favor. So almost every point the Pokes scored was earned with hard work. Then they turned it over 18 times to 2 for UNLV. So even in the loss, this might have been their best game so far (not counting the turnovers)

I understand Linskins is just a froshman, but I'm not sure he has the fire in his belly to be the force he needs to be in the middle. Nelson was getting after it when he was in there, except for the one time he went to sleep on defense and gave up an open layup. Jones didn't have a good night either. I understand that players have off nights, but we are lacking the players that can step in and take over when this happens. Platt and Johnson didn't get it done. I also saw too many defensive let-downs in this game - slow getting back on defense, not blocking out for rebounds, and playing too far off your man and giving him open looks. We looked better last night, but made just enough bad plays to lose the game.

Does anyone else think Eric Platt may end up as one of the biggest busts in Cowboy history?? I mean there is no denying he had a natural stroke from the perimeter, but he just may never have it in game situations at the college level.

He doesn't get enough minutes to really show what he has, if anything. At least he is better IMHO than Geis and Bunker (who for some reason was a starter earlier in the season --- a "reward" for kissing Schroyer's butt, perhaps?). But as the CSTV announcer said at the last game, you really don't know what players at this age are thinking or what really motivates them or turns them off. Take Jones -- he hasn't been a factor since the benching in UNM game.
