UNLV

Biggest question now is Hughes. On the play he got injured, it just looked like a heavy impact from a UNLV player's helmet to his forearm. Hopefully it's just a bruise. Game commentators said it looked like he was closing his hand several times. Could be a grip or tendon issue?

Sims looked awful, but I think he may be able to handle UTEP. Different environment and circumstances. Critical to get him in for New Mexico, though.

That was simply one of the best offensive play calling performances I have seen in a long time out of Wyoming. Props to Christian Taylor. On the Road at UNLV I did not expect to win this game. This was a well prepared scheme after a bye week.

Yes. Oops. I’m not getting warm fuzzies about Hugh’s’ injury situation
Because they were playing in Allegiant Stadium, there is a permanent X-Ray machine in there. The NFL requires it for all of their stadiums. Does UNLV, and the opposing team they are facing, get access to it? I have no idea.

I was hearing that he was having trouble gripping the football and had lost some feeling in that hand. That all points to nerve injury of some kind. Unfortunately, nerves do not typically heal quickly. Even a mild nerve injury is going to take 1-2 weeks to fully heal. A more moderate nerve injury can take months to heal. If it wasn't his throwing arm, it wouldn't be such a big deal, but he wasn't that lucky. If I had to take a guess, I don't think we see him back on the field until the Bowl game.
