So I just couldn't resist to be the first to post this. As of right now yes we are indeed above the once mighty UNLV in conference standings with them heading into the DOME OF DOOM :evil: :evil: :evil:
LOL WHERE is Rabi boy to talk to us about Dave Rice and his awesome Rebs??? Really weird how whenever UNLV ever has to play a real team they somehow get torched in the 2nd half. That's so WEIRD???? Oh yeah its called coaching and half time adjustments....oopers those are real things???? Dave Rice forever holding back UNLV's full potential. LOVE IT! I must admit I'm a little conflicted here though. If the Pokes beat UNLV Saturday it might really spell the end for ole Davey boy, and if UNLV finds a real coach YIKES we will have to start looking over our shoulder a lot more.
 
If we win, we can be the final nail in Dave Rose's coffin. On one hand, I'd love to see him get fired. But honestly, watching him struggle to understand how basketball works and turning his 5 star recruits against each other while the fans live in denial and believe success is just around the corner is comical. So I'm not sure if I want Wyoming to win or lose this game, haha :lol:

I actually like Dave Rice. He seems like a nice guy. Having said that he is better suited as an assistant. The guy can recruit no doubt but it doesn't matter when the coaching doesn't help the player be all that he can be.

He has recruited great every year there and even though he has seemed to mess it up most years I thought this UNLV team would have enough talent top to bottom that even he couldn't screw it up. They started out good but he seems to somehow be screwing it up again. Guess he will be going back to being an assistant soon unless he can somehow magically turn around their season. If he does hopefully it won't happen until after the Wyoming game.

Shyatt should hire him as recruiting coordinator and then let Shyatt do all the coaching . We would have a decent chance at going to the sweet sixteen most years I think with that type of talent and Shyatt coaching them. Not that Rice would be able to get that same type of talent to Laramie but maybe somewhere in between what we get and UNLV gets. :D

Hahahaha love his quote just like I was joking around about earlier this year.

Dave Rice isn't the problem. It's the players mental toughness. Just go make plays guys. Why aren't you making plays??? Come on guys make a play!!!
AHAHAHAHAH Thanks coach. Reminds me of watching Mcclain's show back in the day. "and again we just didn't hit our shots. We gotta hit our shots." Welp it sure helps to have an offense that gets your players open looks and has plays. Nope lets just rely on our raw athleticism and call it good.

Oh go look at the comments at the bottom of that article. Some other UNLV fan's opinions on this situation are coming out :rofl: :rofl: :rofl:

I don't understand how the team can go from looking so soft, and mild, to making a comeback like that all in the same half.

It's all about defense. The way our coaching staff approaches things, our team gets energy and confidence from making defensive stops (like mcmanamen hitting 3's after drawing charges) but subsequently loses their aggressiveness and plays poor offensively when the other team is making everything. It seems like we have a hard time scoring on consecutive possessions unless we're getting stops on the other end
