Uniforms

Yep, you're definitely in the minority. That's the greatest blessing to DC going down the road: no more grey uniform with crappy camo patched onto it. That thing is an abortion.

I think a gold uni with brown/black/ and white digital camo pattern over the entire uni! Then we need a Gold field with camo numbers painted on it. Maybe then we could ambush the opposing offenses and actually make tackles! LOL They would never see us coming!

worked out. A dollar says better coaching and training will trump uniform combos when it comes to serious talent any day.

You don't know urban youth then. "Swag" is sadly more of a big deal for kids than it ever should be. And if they can't play for a G5 school they want to look slick playing for us.

Having cool looking uniforms isn't the main selling point for recruits, it's intended to be the thing that sways a recruit when they are undecided.

If a kid is 50-50 on Wyo and CSU, we sure as hell better have cool lookin jerseys instead of that boring ass "old timer" crap so many people on here want.

+1000

I don't care what the kids are wearing, Winning is Winning.

Same, I like the look and even liked it in the Basketball game the other night.

I highly doubt those Uniforms are going anywhere, More people like them than not. It's the majority of the older fans that think the word tradition is still part of the College Football vocabulary that don't like them. The word tradition has been replaced by $$$ and you know it's true.

We've got to keep the Nike uniforms to continue to pull in the athletes. I think they are great!
Yeah since we switched to Nike our team is unstoppable!

Not what he was saying. He was saying that by using Nike brand, it helps attract recruits more than if it was some other less well known brand.

It's so weird how important uniforms are to the kids. Watch these 'grown men', college football players, act like little girls over uniforms.

That and we don't have to hear our special teams called special forces anymore, just because he mis-spoke in an interview and acted as if he meant to say forces. I don't mind having camo uniforms, but I don't like the camo uniforms we use. I wouldn't mind seeing some redesigns for the camo uniforms.

Great video. I knew the players cared about the uniforms, but this shows how serious they are!

These are the same kids that will drop $200 on a pair of tennis shoes made by Nike for 25 cents in China. You can put all the lipstick you want on a pig....dress her up real pretty......she's still a pig. Wyoming looked real good in all of their uniform combinations this year.....but they were still a pig.

Perhaps the coaching staff should have spent more time coaching, and less time worrying about the uniform for the next game. This isn't Seamstress University or Fashion Design State - it's the University of Wyoming. If DC had focused more on how they played instead of how they looked, he might still be gainfully employed and all of us would be looking forward to playing for the MWC championship. Instead, we have all these cool uniforms lying around for the winter and we are out looking for someone to bring this program back to reality. It's time to get back to basics. If a kid is more worried about uniform combinations than he is about how he plays, send his ass to fashion design school in NYC. I want a kid who isn't afraid to get dirty, wallow in the mud, substance over style. I want a kid who isn't afraid to look like this:

instead of this:

"Clean", not junky, overdone, and pretentious. That's what I like about the unis. Remember, "different" doesn't translate to "better". And the names, oh, the names, are on the jerseys. Not some meaningless one-word slogan.

Having just went through this two years ago when my son was visiting schools I can tell you for him it wasn't the uniforms but rather the lure of D1 and the FREE Swag that the players receive. Tanner was offered a big scholarship to play at Carroll College in Montana but he turned it down partly because he wanted to play D1 but it didn't he;p that Carroll didn't provide their athletes with any gear. He would of had to buy his own gloves, shoes, etc. At Wyoming when I checked him in they gave him the following before he ever started........Two pair of cleats, lifting shoes, Three shorts, three shirts, Two sweat suits, Two dress shirts, Two pair of gloves, socks for ever, not to mention all of the uniform combos that they fitted him for. And that is for a walk-on....once he started traveling he got more. Not to mention these athletes never have to do any laundry. They turn their stuff in and when they show up the next day there is a fresh set of gear in their locker. He did mention that he would rather have a Nike sponsor than a Russell sponsor which is what Carroll had. As his father I am thinking about all of the money I would be saving with the scholarship and he is thinking of the free crap he will be getting! LOL Typical 18 year old I suppose.

I understand what he is saying. Since we switched from New Balance to Nike I have seen no substantial improvement in the level of recruits. Yes we may have gotten better on Offense but the talent on Defense dipped.

When I saw the Pokes come out in those damned yellow jerseys for the CSU game this year, my immediate response to those around me in section 27 was, "What in the hell are they doing wearing yellow jerseys. They never win a home game in those. We've already lost. May as well go home."

They should burn every solid yellow jersey on campus. What a great idea for a frigid winter afternoon on campus. Maybe a choir could gather round and sing a tune to a Tony Orlando harmony, "Burn a Yellow Jersey on the Old Bonfire"

And, if I ever see yellow pants and jerseys at home -instant execution of the equipment manager.

Mockup of that:

I also feel like we need to bring back the helmet striping. Same pattern as the packers, but brown and gold instead of green and white.

+1000. I never have liked the plain white helmet nearly as much as the striped helmet.

Didn't the Pokes win the 2008 Border War w/ yellow jerseys/pants?
