Uniforms-First Time Poster

First time poster here. On the subject of uniforms, I grew up rooting for the Pokes and graduated from UW and these are my favorite by far. If they stick with one uniform and go for a classic look, I believe this is it.

I miss the Roach Era badly!!!!!

Before UW grad school, we used to yell from the CSU stands...(Yeah, I was evil then)...that the uniform colors were the last thing we saw before we flushed the toilet.

Oh, those were the days. Of course the sheep really sucked then. Back before Earl Bruce.

Now, I like either the yellow uniform tops or the brown...not the duck looking ones. But, if they go 8-4 and beat the Rams in those, I could deal with it.

Actually, that the douche that transferred to cu under Glenn's watch - they are wearing throwbacks for a homecoming game.

As an aside, everyone needs to let the uniforms go! They are not for the fans!

I agree. I know I'm the minority but I really like the new uniforms. I LOVE the camo. I personally am not upset that Bohl sounds like he's going old school with two unis total. I do, however, think that the unis can be a recruiting tool and that the best thing DC did for our program was the nike deal. Old timers flame in 3.....2.....

I do like SOME of the uniform combos that Christensen brought in with the Nike deal, and I do believe the Nike deal can bring in recruits. I still think brown top with gold pants is the way to go at home and either white on brown or white on white is good on the road. I also like the brown helmets but the white helmet with brown Steamboat has always been my favorite. For whatever reason having the Nike logo on the uniform will make a differnce, even if they wear one home and one road uni.

I also agree that wear whatever and WIN! Winning brings in recruits more than what they are wearing on a weekly basis.

I originally thought this thread was about our 2014 season football poster and actually showing players wearing a football uniform instead of some stupid leather jacket and Cowboy hat ( the hat is definitely not stupid just not cool on a football poster). I want to put a legit poster on my wall wearing actual uniforms.

On the other hand, whenever politics and religion get brought up, I would stay away . I learned the hard way in my first year on here. I tread lightly. Have to silently disagree and not post anything.

Personally, I'm partial to the solid brown with game-day gold trim, including numbers and Steamboat. I'd like to see a brown-on-black with gold trim worked up for roadies, but that's just out of curiosity more than anything else.

As far as the home uniforms, stick with a solid color top to bottom. If you insist on two-tone, go with the dark color on top. The white or gold jerseys with brown pants are just wrong. I prefer a dark helmet (insert Rick Moranis joke here) but white's okay. I'd like to see a brown helmet with white Steamboat outlined in gold. I'd also like to see a glossy brown helmet with a Wyoming-flag Steamboat and a metallic gold jaw guard and facemask (a la Navy's helmets).

I liked that one a lot too, but ditch the white facemask and go with a brown one.

I'm also a huge fan of this look

Personally like the brown helmet over the white helmet. Like both the gold jersey and brown pant combo as well as the brown jersey gold pant combo.....but both with the matte brown helmet.

Does anyone know if the Gray Camo jersey's will be available to purchase? I just finished my mancave and I am in the process of flooding it with WYO stuff. One of those jersey's would upgrade it dramatically.

I'm not so old-timey that I'm adverse to uniform changes, but here is what I'm after:
1.We really only need one combo for home, one away, and one alternative per season. If you wanna change them year after year, fine, but it's just silly to have more for a single season.
2.I'm personally fond of brown top and gold pants for home. Whether the jersey style is like the Roach era, or with the yellow letters/numbers like this year, I don't care as much. I just think it's the best color scheme. For road I prefer white top/brown pants, but white/white would be ok too.
3.The brown helmet is starting to grow on me, but I don't like it as much with the brown tops. I especially don't like when it is with the brown bucking horse decal or the pink breast cancer bucking horse decal.
4.It looks like I'm going to be in the minority here, but I don't like the camo unis and would be ok scraping them. They just don't look like us at all. I think brown/gold/white gives us a lot to work with, so it drives me crazy when we try to incorporate silver/gray to any of our uniforms in any of our sports. Gray or silver isn't one of our colors! I'm only on here sporadically, but I feel like I've heard lots of compliments on the camo unis, including a couple posts up of somebody wanting to buy the things, but it could just be a small sample size. But it does feel good to know I'm not the only one.

You're not the only one. Can't stand the camos.

The ONLY uniforms I want to see are the ones from 1987-96. Anything else is crap! :x
