In our 6 wins this year, we were underdogs for 4 of them......and yet we bitch about it.
We were picked to finish 9th, we finish 5th......and yet we bitch.
Bring us the boot after being held captive in Ft. Collins for 2 years......and we bitch.
1st year coach gets us to a bowl with mostly true freshmen.......we bitch.

The one thing I've learned most this year is that our fans suck at being fans. Cry when things don't go our way, and cry when things DO go our way......definition of Cowboy Tough, eh?

I'm extremely happy. I'll admit that I was negative early on in a few games, but I don't really think I ever thought I knew better. I know I did complain early on about us running it so much on first down, but seeing it go for 4, 5, and 6 yards quite a bit as of late, I'm starting to see why we did it. It's a learning experience for both o-line and runningbacks alike, and it's been working a lot better.

Anyways... I like the underdog thing. It's one of the reason I stuck with Wyoming. It's the ultimate underdog school. The smallest state population-wise with all the other schools having much better access to larger cities to recruit from - and as we know, higher population means better competition at the high school level and more quality recruits close to home. And still, the university shows it's dead serious about its football program by having some of the nicest facilities in the nation, and by grabbing one of the most wanted new coaches at the end of last year.

The school also tries to create model citizens, obviously valuing team play, character, and with a small town, it's a lot harder to get in serious trouble. Just looking at how Karsten Sween has carried himself shows that the players buy into the team first attitude.

I'm proud to be a Cowboy!
