Tyre Robinson

Probably not a D-1 prospect. Maybe low major?

If the Pokes are looking at anybody in CO for 2014 it would be Gus Nehme who was recently released from his LOI at Montana St. following the coaching change. Had a tremendous senior year, and along the lines of WyoExpat's post, he is the nephew of Bill Garnett.

Agreed. At this point, he is not a MWC caliber player. As we've all stated before, we can't really afford to continue to take chances on "projects" such as Tyre. Right now, his game is that of undersized PF. His size would be ideal for the SF spot but he lacks the ball handling skills and quickness to play on the wing in the MWC.

He reminds me of Keonta Vernon, undersized for his skill set. We all know how that worked out. I agree that he is not MWC caliber. Would really like to see Shyatt get Gus Nehme and Jon Horford to fill the 2 open scholarships.

On the other hand, we are not running the program and Coach Shyatt has made it clear from Day 1 that his approach to recruiting is focused on bringing in "projects" from high school and then developing them after they are on campus.

Based on what I hear out of the program, the question we should ask is whether Mr. Robinson has the natural lateral quickness without the ball to play the 3 or 4. If so, then the rest of it is skill development.

I also think that Justin French was about 6'6" in 1997-98. Coach Shyatt used him to play the 4 position at that size. I think he was maybe even a walk-on originally.

My sense is that, if we can get one big, interior transfer that will play immediately, we should expect to see guys who were in the system last year fill roles next year more than we should expect to see immediate contributions from new Freshmen.
