TX fired AD

Well, the last time Texas was worth something was when they played Alabama in the title game and Colt McCoy went down with an arm injury. Been a downward spiral ever since for them.

We need to follow there lead.

I am sure you know my stance...but that won't happen. We have an outgoing President at UW, and I am certain the lame assed trustees won't allow a firing prior to a hiring.

Makes me sick that in hindsight Buchanan was such a monumental turd of a President. I should have known that would be the case, as he was forced - pushed - bribed into the position by his constituents.

...And when it looks like a President is a shaker and a mover, the Trustees short circuit him. The problem being, there's no accountability on the part of the BOT to its constituency. Basically because there is no constituency if there's no accountability to anyone. The only branch of governance that should be somewhat shielded from voter accountability is the judiciary. The BOT is a supra-administrative arm of the executive branch. It needs to be changed to an elected position or it should, at minimum, require the consent of the Legislature.

On any new President's to-do list should be a performance audit of Burman. Possibly a body-cavity search too...

Y'all were talking about something the other day, probably conference realignment or some shit like that. And y'all were way off on how things are thought about in Texas.
Anyway there was this long article somewhere and I decided not to post it but it talked about Patterson. He's fucked around with too many people who love UT. I knew other the day that this was coming because some things you know and some you just believe in.
He was a turd AD.

He was clumsy in the way he went about his making his changes and he didn't kiss all the right asses... sounds familiar

Alyssa is right there and knows what the scoop is. When UT isn't winning, ain't nobody happy or secure in their job.

He pissed off a lot of people. He was all business. He was not very personal. He didn't meet with people like the head coaches. He had his deputy AD do it. I heard that when Joe Jamail said he was not giving any more money and turned in his suite that that was it for Patterson.

You all might want to read this thread on a Division II football board about the firing. Very....Interesting read.

Geez. They have 57,233 season ticket holders and a stadium that has a capacity of 100,119. That is roughly 57% season ticket holders per capacity of the stadiumm.. I think in the drive for 10,000 season tickets, if they ever reached that, ( I don't know, it went quiet after Nebraska left), that would have equated to 34% of tickets vs our capacity.

That is some serious support right there.
