Two MW coaches on the hot seat?

Yikes for UW and UNLV..

-I have maintained that Christensen should be let go and that there is now a significant chance of such termination at the end of the season. (Before the video 0% chance of termination) (No I don't have an inside source and my credibility is subject to my gut feeling belief)

-Christensen's offensive coaching ability and past ability to recruit skill position talent is not questioned. The ability to recruit in light of the recent video is very much so in doubt.

-I would have a lot of enthusiasm for the future of the program if we could get Joe Tiller to agree to oversee any transition.

For all we know, they could have been reading the posts on here, considering that some posters on here like Wyovanion, have said something very similar.

But if true, it means rebuilding the program, again.

Actually if it is true don't be surprised if Gregg Brandon gets the job or someone already on the coaching staff. If they hire from within though my guess would be Gregg Brandon.

And if they decide to clean house (which is not out of the question, let's face it), it means rebuilding. At least we'll have a couple of damn good QBs and tough as nails RBs to build the offense around.

Defense, well, we have a good player here and there, but overall it's a mess.

True they very well could clean house. BUT and it is a big BUT.... I think the main reason they would get rid of Christensen is because they can get out of his contract at this point because of what happened. Maybe not the whole contract but who knows... we know they will not have to pay him his full amount owed.

I doubt that filters down to the assistants though as they were not the ones who had an "episode". Burman already said he doesn't think we are as bad as our record which I would have to agree with to a certain extent. So maybe they keep everyone on the coaching staff still except for the head coach just for the sake of making the transition easier? Or maybe they keep Brandon and let him pick his defensive coordinator.

Or like you said maybe they just clean the whole cupboard out.

Who knows. A lot of "ifs , ans and buts" still .

You realize that DC does a lot of consulting with Tiller about the spread offense and DC brought in Brandon because they both have a good base knowledge of the same spread formation? Bascially we are already running a Gregg Brandon/Tiller offense.

Haha trollin'.....

Too early to believe any of this. If the Pokes lose to CSU, all bets are off.....but what if they win out? I'd bet Burman could make a case for him in that scenario.

If they lose out.......hard to keep a coach that talked MWC championship in the off-season and delivered 1-11 along with a tirade that went viral.

Seriously WN'ers.....do you remember the topics we talked about? 7-5 was deemed "pessimistic" and a "step backwards".....the worst case scenario was 6-6! For goodness sake, I never drank the kool-aid and I thought they would go 7-5! Some thought Boise was comin' to town to get their asses handed to them this year. Not exactly how things panned out.

I have no idea how the next regime could go. But you have to admit.....if CDC is let go there will be, to some extent, a sigh of relief. New coach + Brett Smith = renewed excitement.

I agree he should be gone. I question Christensen's offensive coaching ability at the Head Coach position. It is a joke. Not only is his record worse that Glenn's at this point, but so is the scoring output. So much for 3 yards and a cloud of dust...it got us more points.

Are we really taking a Twitter account entitled "Football Rumor Mill" as fact? I know we all like to speculate, but come on.

Howdy Doody Gate definitely was a black eye, but this will be old news next year. We may lose a recruit here or there, but let's be honest. There ain't a 4 star stud recruit walking through the doors into the War anytime soon. We have never got these guys and never will. So, we may have an ACS caliber of player transfer from time to time. Fine. We will survive.

DC ain't going anywhere. He made a mistake. He apologized to Howdy Doody. He got fined. He (hopefully) learned his lesson and move on. Several consecutive seasons of 1-11 will get him the boot. However, the AD and Pres know the circumstances that has factually hurt our season. Injuries, etc. They take that all into account. The outsider schmucks I live by around here just see the W-L column and give me crap about it. The AD and Pres see the whole picture. Whether we agree with them or not, they take that into consideration.

If we finish below .500 next year, he is gone. With a pretty nice severance to boot.

Now, I have to get back to the Huffington Post to break some news.

:coffee:

I would be shocked and pissed if UW fired DC. Doing ignorant things like that made us the loser program that we have become.

Well since I watched the exact same BS vanilla play calling when DC wasn't on the field. I'd say your beloved Brandon is at fault.

Polish a turd? or flush it?

Clean house!

Start with Burman. Then bring in a new AD, a new HC and let them bring in the talent they need to turn this around

Sigh...it's shit like this that bugs me. You obviously have no idea what you are talking about. If you think Burman has set UW back then your suggestion above would set UW Football back another decade.

Sure let's hire someone brand new, someone that (you have made very clear several times) isn't a UW guy and is a newcomer. Then let's tell this brand new person, that (for the most part) doesn't know anything about UW, Wyoming (politics, etc.), our current football team, our recent football history, to go out and hire a guy that will be the most important individual on the most important team at the only school in the state. Talk about throwing a guy into the fire right off the bat.

If you were the Board of Trustees or the President of the University this would be an insane move. The BOT and Pres. would have to take the brunt of the hiring process, but that would be absurd because they would know far less about hiring a football coach than Burman. If anything, a new AD would have to play a minor role in the hiring process, but then of course that wouldn't give you anyone to blame when/if the new coach began to flounder.

Unfortunately, the only thing you see when it comes to an AD is the on-field success (which he has very little to do with on an annual basis) and the scheduling (which the coaches typically have just as much, if not more, input on than the AD). There is a whole lot more to being the AD than these more-public topics.

Yes, thats the point of my post. We won't be starting from ground zero with Tiller and/or Brandon.

I know DC and Brandon both like the Spread, but what about running Roach's wishbone option offense? You don't need big guys up front (service academies prove this), and it focuses more on speed. With Smith and Thompson being both dual threat QBs, it would also incorporate Wick, May, and Easton all at once. We would only need to get some actual tight ends.

The point is, if we ALREADY do this...Why change? If were not starting at ground zero, and we're not changing what we do now, why make a change? You do realize it is Brandon that calls the plays now, not DC, right?
