Just announced.

Trey Washington III Leaves Wyoming Program

LARAMIE, Wyo. (Feb. 18, 2016) – University of Wyoming head coach Larry Shyatt announced Thursday that redshirt sophomore guard Trey Washington III has left the Cowboy basketball program for personal reasons. Shyatt and the team will have no further comment on the subject.

NO problem there, he was a whiner crier and wasn't getting his way, go play at a Texas school, he showed flashes of good at times, but we didn't need a player of his type, but to waste a redshirt that's sad. I won't miss him much, now if it truly is personal good luck to him, but oh well it's the trial and tribulations of being a Wyoming Cowboys fan
 
We lose yet another player that's been in the program, loading us up again with freshmen and sophomores :facepalm:

Then go out and earn them back. I don't want anyone to leave but for someone to leave because they don't play enough pisses me off. Either accept your place and be a great teammate or bust your ass change the situation. I bet Morris Marshall would love TW3's minutes. You see guys like Josh and JMAC and Lieberman posting things all off season showing them busting their ass to get better. At this level, raw talent doesnt mean nearly as much as it did in high school. Have to be willing to work
 
Not much of a surprise, if memory serves me correct he almost quit last year.

I think Lieberman has moved ahead of TW based upon his improved play. I'm at a loss to understand why some here are so down on this kid -- when I have seen major improvement from him since the season started.

He's still not there yet, still a work in progress, but as ItSucksToBeACSURam made note of a few weeks ago, his ascent has been a nice thing to watch this year. He's getting more comfortable, gaining more confidence, he's cut down on his TO's...this kid has impressed me with his play overall.

I've never been impressed with Washington since he's been with us.

I agree. But at least to me Lieberman has done nothing in a game to deserve minutes. He must be one hell of a practice player. But this is bull crap. Just finish the season. I hope it was because of an arrest or cheating or something other than strait up quitting. I hate quitters..

Smells a lot like Sellers last season. What a strange time to quit if there isnt some underlying issue at hand. Quitters suck.

No one this year, but it seems like every year we lose at least one player that would have been a contributor.
 
Hope Trey finds what he is looking for and thank him for his contributions. I also hope the staff make good use of his scholly.

God no kidding. If I was playing behind Lieberman I would take that as a sign I should quit basketball altogether.
 
I thought after we signed Conway that trey was going for sure but we hadn't heard. Seemed like we had too many at that position.
 
I assume he saw the writing on the wall for next year. He is already behind Lieberman, and next year would probably be behind Conway as well.

I would guess it's either that or personal/family/girl problems at home. Good luck to him.
 
Didn't he quit or threaten to quit last year? Hate to lose an experienced player, but I think he must've seen the writing on the wall with Conway coming in next year. Hopefully he finds what he's looking for and we can use his scholarship to get an impact big man.
