Transfer

Apparently we have a chance of landing a d1 transfer that can play right away according to the "insiders" at gowyogo.
Jerron Granberry from northern florida.
They are saying he is leaving UNF and since baby Shy was an assistant there we could land him...the thing about it though....he has already played 4 years....3 full years then played in 5 games this season then stopped because his father died. Now...I don't know if you can get a family related red shirt or what but if not...the people at gowyogo are talking about getting a transfer who has used all 4 years of eligibility.
Anyone else know what is going on?
It's either Rashad Muhammad or a d1 transfer to play right away it seems like.

I would be okay with Granberry because it would be an immediate boost, and with him and Hankerson, and Nance, and then who ever else earns a starting spot, we could actually compete in the MWC right away, then we would have two schollys open for the next class, the class that has tons of prospects in Denver.

But getting Muhammad would be sweet as well, it would just be another couple seasons before we are competing and he is as good as we want him to be.
I'm assuming, hell maybe he is a 1 and done like his bro and goes from a nobody to a star in 1 college season.

But I want Granberry, if he has eligibilty. I don't get how a guy who has played 4 seasons has any eleigibilty.

With Granberry, I assume (I don't really know, this is just speculation) that he has petitioned the NCAA for an additional year of eligibility (hardship waiver) based on the fact that he only played 5 games (normally I think you are limited to 10% of the contests, or 3 games in the case of Men's BB) combined with the fact that he has not taken a redshirt year otherwise (sometimes the NCAA is more lenient granting a 5th year of eligibility than a 6th year).

Jesse Carr is expected to receive a 6th year of eligibility for CSU. He missed one entire season (12-13) but his other redshirt season he played in 4 games and was granted a medical redshirt.

Just my speculation.

Why not aim for both. Who says the kid from Florida has to have scholly?

Lol yeah I don't know that having him come pay for his own grad school just so we can add another player would fly...

"Hey we really want you, but we want you to pay for your own school, out of state tuiton, grad school".
No way..

Because Bentz had no other d1 schools offering him, and is probably just grateful to have the chance. The other guy is gonna be in grad school and can probably start at the majority of d1 schools right away.
He has one year left, he is not gonna wanna walk on.

I'd take Josh Davis 6'8" PF out of Tulane in a heartbeat. Averaged a double double and we did pretty o.k. with the last Josh Davis we had.

There's a few guys on the transfer list that could play the 4( the position we most need) and would be great contributors... Josh davis being the main one. he avg. 17 and 10

Sellers was not even dressed for the last couple of games. They might have told him they were stripping his scholly and that is why we are going after Rashad and a possible d1 transfer both for next year, maybe we do have that extra scholly floating around.

Davis will likely transfer to a SEC/Big 12/Big 10 school.

He had knee surgery, that's why he wasn't dressed.

I have no idea if he will be on the team next year or not. All public indications are that there will be no roster attrition, but things can change and I literally cannot find a season in the last 15 years where we did not have at least one player depart with eligibility remaining. This year I suppose technically we already lost Shakir Smith, but it was so long ago (before the season even started) that I almost count that in last year's total.

What about taking a look at this kid? Transferring from Cal- from Highlands Ranch, CO.....I haven't heard any rumors, just thought I'd throw this one out there.

Do we really need another PF? We need an outside shooter first and foremost and a big guy (Center type player) down low second. A 6'8 200lbs PF (may have grown and put on some weight) is not what we need. We need a guy Sellers' size(like 6'10 250lbs), but with the inside presence like Leonard Washington (not afraid to hit the basket, can rebound, and really good on defense).
