Agreed. Grant is a terrible WR coach. Terrible. Across the board - putrid.

Route running is awful, which throws off timing and the QB - and we cannot afford any more confusion or issues in our QB corps. When they do get open, which is very infrequent, they can't catch the ball. Unless the toss is literally between the numbers, they cannot adjust and make a catch - and even when it is, they drop the ball more often than not. Downfield blocking in the run and pass games is atrocious, which is a big deal in a ground and pound, run first offense. At very very least, Grant needs to get his walking papers. Then we can discuss Vigen and his A Gap/B Gap/3rd and 8 or more throw-a-hope-and-prayer-pass-to-close-out-a-series scheme and why he needs to go too. Our receivers regress even more than our QBs over a four year span in Laramie, which is saying a lot.

Solomon Byrd likes/tweets give the indication that wants to see a change on offense. Not sure what that means for his future. Anyone that thinks Vigen's piss poor performance only effects the offensive side of the ball, needs to think again.

Not to :deadhorse1: but one of my complaints about Bohl (not in his last press conference) is that he seemed to throw the D under the bus even thought that was the only side of the ball performing at the FBS level. Meanwhile he sugarcoated everything about the offense. Could totally be my perception but I've wondered if the D ever felt that way?

That and what you point out has to make the D pretty damn angry.

There's no doubt the defense and their coaches past and present is/were pissed at this point. If it were an isolated incident of offensive ineptitude, that would be one thing.

I bet a lot of the offensive players past and present ain't too happy either.

I don't blame them one bit. Mutual accountability is a good thing.

I hope this means he's not transferring. I worry about the opt outs and Byrd was gigantic surprise last year.

So outside of the very first game, they technically held each team to 20 or less. Considering we were missing nearly our entire starting D line, lost our top LB to the draft and were breaking in a new DC, I'd say that's not too shabby. Add in the fact that we got destroyed in TOP in 50% of our games, and I'd call that a damn solid season.

Also, in every major defensive statistical category except passing D, were top-25. Passing D is 31st. As mentioned, if the offense performed to that level, we would have went 6-0.

Scoring D - 25
Rushing D - 22
Passing D - 31

You sound like Bohl putting the losses on the D instead of the offensive ineptitude.

You're also not good at math. The D gave up 27 points to CSU. 7 of the 27 came after a turnover by our stellar offense deep in our own territory. They gave up 31 to Nevada in regulation.

They had a rough go against Nevada, no doubt. Nevada is a potent offense that we had trouble containing in the first game under our new DC and missing Crall. We were also missing Crall for CSU.

If you think this is a bad defense, you're clueless. They won't be confused for one of the best over the past few years, but they continuously got better and IMO put the team in a position to win every game.

The fact is the offense didn't score enough to win, cause that's how sports work and the reason there's a L in the W/L column for 4 out of 6 games.
