Transfer COVID rules

Anybody have any ideas how transferring will work with “opting” out. We have some really good players not playing, will they be forced to sit out next year if they decided to transfer considering this is kind of like a year that doesn’t count?

The NCAA recently approved the new one time transfer rule starting next year which will apply to all years. Any player can transfer one time among division 1 football and basketball programs without having to sit out.

It seems fair, but don’t like where this will put us I fear

Damn right its fair. Never was right that the NCAA was supposedly for the 'student athlete' but coaches could transfer schools without penalty yet the actual student athletes could not.

It will work both ways. Wyoming will acquire players that aren't getting playing time or scholarships at other schools and may lose a few players that want more spotlight or want to be closer to home or want to pursue a specific academic study elsewhere. We will keep the players that are happy to be here and ultimately that is who I believe we want on the team.
