We utilize the talent on offense to the fullest being a fast paced hurry up team. If we slowed things down the offense would be nowhere near as effective, look to the Gregg Brandon seasons when we were a slow methodical offense. DC does the right thing with the hurry up and should change nothing on the offensive side of the ball, the sole reason why we are a 500 football team is a terrible defense, and offense has absolutely NOTHING to do with that. Oregon runs at an even faster pace, yet their defense is number 2 in the nation, how fast you run your offense does not matter at all to the defensive side of the football. They just simply need to play better defensively and the offense needs to keep doing what they are doing.

Other than Air Force, the Offense has disappeared at times in each game, just last week they were up 30-14 and didn't score again until they were behind.....they even contributed to the comeback with the fumble.....they were non existent against TxSt and CSU and did nothing against New Mexico until they had blown a 21 point lead! Team game and yes the D sucks, but the O is not blameless and let's not get into Special Teams!

Yes the Pokes offense has disappeared at times, but you really can not expect them to be on it all game every game.
Even the Broncos offense with Peyton Manning has disappeared at times. Multiple 3 and outs in a row.
The difference is the defense. The Broncos play D and keep the team in it.
We have an awesome offense, and should be able to go 3-3&outs in a row without being down 14 afterwards.

You understand that despite a few different DC's, our defense under Christensen has always sucked, that he hasn't been able to make half time adjustments on either side of the ball and that special teams coverage has regressed under him, right?

Where, exactly does the buck stop as far as you're concerned? At what point do you hold Christensen accountable for this team?

You do realize also that DC probably feels the pressure on him for the first time in his career at Wyoming, and is now going to do what he can to win and win now.
We talked about how DC was on the hot-seat last year, but we all knew that Burman wasn't going to do anything.

Now though, now it's real.
Why else would he fire him with 4 games left?

And really, people could say the same exact things about Bronco Mendenhall at BYU a few years ago, and Texas, this season.

Sometimes a change can help.
Hopefully this is one of the times the defense improves, and the Pokes can go on to win at least 3 more games this season.

From what I've seen of Christensen, I think he lacks the fundamental character and leadership skills for the position. I'm not, like some would suggest, "cheering for us to lose", but sometimes you just need to rip the bandage off, hair and all.

I have zero faith in our Head Coach at this point based on all of the evidence before me. Anyone advocating, short of a competitively played bowl game, that he get another season has their head in the sand.

I truly agree with this. I have seen too many times how ineffective leadership literally destroys organizations. You don't need to be a cheerleader, or rah-rah guy to do this. You just need to be able to quickly recognize problems and come up with a solution. Why CDC wasn't on the horn with Tormey, telling him to change things up in the second half is beyond me. How does an effective leader allow someone in his chain to keep doing the same thing over and over, all the while getting horrid results. A mistake once in a while is acceptable, but rinse and repeat is a failure at the top.

I remember the exact moment I lost all faith in the guy was during the Nevada game last year. 4th and inches to run out the clock... he punts! Of course Nevada scores and ties it up. Then with plenty of time left on the clock he calls for 3 straight kneel downs instead of trying to win the game in regulation. I realized right then and there he will never be the kind of coach who can lead this team anywhere. He doesn't coach to win.

This is the same type of problem that got Glenn in trouble. The same highly visible problems went on and on with no corrective action by the head coach. This should have been corrected at the end of last season.

I lost faith i DC when I realized he would never nail a coffin shut and would always kneel at the half regardless the score, Needless to say that was a long damn time ago. I think he is an outstanding OC and maybe with a strong D he would be a different HC.

Well, Tormey's contract finishes up this season anyways, so we'll probably be looking after the season, depending on how Cain does.
