yeah, but there are pros and cons each way. AA had a good true freshman year and led the team in rushing, but Kongo was supposed to get good playing time last year as a true frosh but didn't and wasted a year with little experience for development. I just don't want KS to lose a year of eligibility being stuck behind 3 guys with more time in the system. If he was here for the spring I might feel a little different, but coming in fresh and working his way up through 3 guys that are capable doesn't sound like a good recipe for a lot of playing time.

But like I said, I can't really wait either to see those moves in a Cowboys uniform.

TRUW, what areas do you see missing in Sutton's talent level, other than size? AP

Firstly, I always take RB's highlight tapes with a grain of salt. You would be hard pressed to find a RB that signed with an FBS school who doesn't have a highlight tape just as impressive as Suttons.

Secondly, his top speed is mediocre at best. His average 40 yard dash time was 4.7 seconds, which probably isn't even average for an FBS running back. No, straight line speed isn't everything when it comes to a RB, but it can mean the difference between a 20 yard gain and an 80 yard touchdown run.

Thirdly, he has a propensity to reverse field when he doesn't have a gaping hole immediately available to him. That shit might work in high school, but that is only going to result in huge losses in FBS college football. Those are drive killers. It can mean the difference between 2nd and 9 or 2nd and 20.

Sutton does have some positives. He does have relatively good footwork and makes lightning quick cuts, but I don't think thats going to be enough to get him any reps at RB this year.

I hear you about the grain of salt, but his balance and awareness of space is really damn good. What are some of the other running back tapes that are as good as Sutton's?

I agree his top-end speed isn't that great, but what a first few steps!!! Also, I like the fact that once he figures out he can't outrun them, he either tries to go through them, or jump over them.

I also get the whole reversing field thing, but I think that again goes to how aware he is of his position. Yeah, he could of kept running straight into the pile for no gain, then again, he could reverse field and lose 15 yards. Either way, he doesn't give up and tries to create a play. IMHO, that's what's missing from the Cowboy offense. Maybe the offensive line can't hold their blocks long enough, if that's the case, then I want this kid with the ball....he runs to open space and knows how to get a first down.

I just haven't seen too many game-breaking moves from the current crop of Wyo running backs. Don't get me wrong, I'm pulling for all currently on the roster, but, this kid is exciting.....AP

There is simply no reason we aren't going to get back to the smash mouth defenses and high flying offenses of our (collective) youth. Absolutely none!
