For the players who play in tomorrows game; You are priveleged to be given the opportunity of a lifetime. Texas is #2 and a 33 point favorite for good reason. They are that good. But you still have to play the game. Will Wyoming be scared, which will play right into Texas' hands? Or will the team make the most of the opportunity God has given them. It's all about your performance. Do we freeze and not take advantage of this historic moment? We need to look at Texas as a measuring stick. Losing to a team that is rightly favored by 5 touchdowns is no shame. But Losing knowing that you didn't play your best because you were intimidated, nervous, or scared; well this you will regret for the rest of your life.
Play every down to the best of your ability. Play as smart as you can. And if you do that, win or lose, you will have no regrets. Football is Football. It's about tackling, turnovers, execution, mental toughness, mistakes and penalties.
Any team can beat any other team. Can we kick the kickoffs to the endzone and have good coverage or do we allow them to return them to midfield? Do we false start or do we induce false starts? Do we turn the ball over or do we strip the ball every chance we have? Do we commit a late hit out of bounds or do they? Do we muff a punt or do they? We have to make them earn everything. They thrive on short fields, turnovers, bad punts, bad coverage etc... They thrive on the fact that almost every team they face is intimidated of them. They use it against you. It's time to see how well you stack up. DO NOT BE AFRAID OF SUCCESS. Give it all you have; Play smart; Focused; and disciplined. Give them nothing for free. Make them earn every yard. Strip the ball every chance you have. If you do all these things and still lose, you have nothing to be ashamed of. Nothing changes, you are suppose to lose tomorrow. BUT, if you play well and you find yourself with the chance of winning late in the game. Don't be afraid of winning. A win brings Wyoming Football back for good. A win means the MWC can no longer be denied. A WIN AND WYOMING WILL BE CREDITED FOR ENDING THE BCS. It's the opportunity of a lifetime that could be talked about for decades.
