after last week I bet texas st brings the heat in this game. smith got hit a few times last week, missed adjustments for our oline. I wouldn't be suprised if they try to get to smith early and often, then utilize their running game to control the clock. on paper our defense looks like a good day for the texas offensive game plan. They wanna run! Guess we will see if harding and kaglis can get these hogs coached up.
however, I'm sitting 60/40 right now, betting smith picks up a few presnap reads. If he can get the ball too the single coverage recievers tomorrow, we might be looking at big first quarter lead.
we really need to get into half time with a three scoring drive lead to break their game plan. if we can, then we start leading them to pass to conserve clock.
on a side note, I read somewhere that spencer bruce might be back to practice sometime soon... Here's hoping that he's fully recovered, and can start playing at full speed. I have a good feeling for his production in this system. he creates a big target, nice for third down efficiency and redzone percentage.
