This can't be played down like some seem to be (down year for TN, etc.).

5 of Tennessee's losses were to ranked teams - #24, #4, #15, #10, #2.

Tennessee's only other HOME losses were to #4 Florida and #2 Alabama.

Tennessee made it to the SEC championship game LAST season.

Tennessee was perfect at home last season.

Tennessee last lost to a non-BCS team at home in 1986!

Tennessee last lost to a non-ranked team at home in 2005!

Folks are talking this win down...it was a monumental win for the Pokes who I feel have totally turned it around. I have 100% confidence in winning out.

Oh yeah, and Tennessee's only other loss was at South Carolina.....who has moved into the top 25 this week. So all of Tennesee's losses are to top 25 teams...except DA POKES!

I totally agree...plus it was Homecoming for Tennessee, and in the past we have been rolled by Tennessee. I think the only reason this game isn't being hyped as one of the big victories for Wyoming was the lack of points again. Honestly if we would have made the missed FG, extra pt, and kicked the FG late in the game making it 20-7 or scored on a TD on a offensive drive people would be touting this as a huge win. The fact is Tennessee has a good defense, but ours was better. We now have 2 games left and a legit shot to be 6-6. In fact I think sediment now is it would be a dissapointment to not be 6-6. 2 weeks ago we would have thought that impossible. Personally I would like to see us put a whole season together (whether thats under Glenn or a new coach) soon (like next year) but given the way we played for the first half of the season 6-6 with an outside chance at a bowl game would be quite remarkable.

Big things, offense has to prove against an average UNLV defense that it can produce like the first half against SDSU, and the special teams seems for like special ed at this point, we need consistency if we are going to finish this thing off strong. All in all I would say I am cautiously optimistic again.

Well, I really knew we could win this game. I even made a new thread about that. Listen people, we have found our Identity. For some reason, things have clicked and I don't think we can be stopped right now. The energy around this team has changed and I think Stutz has been a big part of that. Our O-line has also decided to win the line of scrimmage and make some holes for our RB's Our team is finding a way to overcome poor coaching and win some games. Although I must say I liked our play calling much more this past game.

Our defense is good when they actually have some time to rest and recover on the sidelines. If we can find a little more out of our special teams, I think we can win out!

All my friends back in TN refuse to give Wyoming credit but they don't understand what this season has been like and that something has changed with us. We aren't just giving away games any longer.

What other people around the country or around the conference think of the win over Tennessee is irrelevant. It was a big win because it gave the Pokes some confidence, some pride, and made the team feel good about themselves. That will show on the field in effort given. I think the biggest keys to the victory was the lack of turnovers (only one for us, which wasnt returned for any yards and ultimately resulted in no points for the Vols) and the ability to get some pressure on their QB. Tackles for loss were huge. I'd like to see the defense continue that aggressive play. As for the turnovers...well, not much you can do. But what you CAN do is makes sure that an interception or fumble isn't returned very far.

You have got to be kidding Tennessee is a horrible team and we got to see 2 teams that were playing not to loose. Tennessee’s offence has not been able to score all year and the 2 scores Wyoming got was because of the offensive turnovers. After that Wyoming knew the Vols could not score on offence and were playing not to loose. It was a win but huge no way look at who else Tennessee has gotten beaten by, 3-6 UCLA and a now 4-6 Wyoming team the 3 teams together would have trouble beating some high school teams. Wyoming’s offensive ranking is 119.1 Tennessee’s is139.5 and the Wyoming’s defense is ranked 74.2 and Tennessee’s is 54.3. The only reason Tennessee beat Northern Illinois was because of the defense. It was a win but I would not look to be playing in a BCS bowl anytime soon.

After this victory, root for Utah and the Pokes... because if Utah wins out and we win out, we for sure are going to a bowl game!

Vol fan, the way the Pokes played the first 8 games, we couldn't have beaten your cheer leaders. As for the Pokes playing not to lose....damn straight. We had the lead and only needed to keep putting you in bad field position as we know our defense is stout when they have something to play for. Only the second game all year our OC looked smart.

I still WILL NOT root for Utah. I can't root for BYU either. Therefore, I'm rooting for a Boise loss. If Boise loses, I think BYU, TCU, or Utah will go to the BCS no matter what happens in the holy war.

I disagree...Ball State is undefeated, 14th in the BCS and will win out given their schedule. I think the only legit chance we have at a Bowl bid is for Utah to win out. Plus its good for our conference and us. All MWC teams have to give 50% of their bowl earnings to be split equally between the other teams in the conference. A MWC team in a BCS Bowl means more money for us. As much as it sucks, I would much rather have to root for Utah than BYU.

I was very surprised at the amount of fans you guys had in Neyland Stadium on Saturday. Considering your record for this year and the length to get to Knoxville I felt it was impressive. I hope you guys get things turned around soon. Worked in Scottsbluff, NE for 14 months and I sure miss it out that way.

Sounds like we had about 1,000 fans there. I was there when we visited in 1999 and we had about 5,000 that year. TN had won the national championship in 98 and our game was the first of the season. There were something like 107,000 people there and I couldn't see an empty seat. It was litterally 10+ degrees hotter inside the stadium than outside. Most incredible college football atmosphere I've ever seen. TN fans were exceptionally gracious back then and I've heard the same thing about the most recent trip.

I was at the 99 game too. We did well until the Vols knocked out the QB. Not a whole lot of Rocky Top playing in the first half. Good win Pokes. No matter how down UT is, Neyland is an imposing place to play. Since there are more younger folks than the big house, I would even say it is a tougher venue.

Hot chicks too.
