The chips appear to be down, at least temporarily. No real QB in the stable and few options in this year's class...at least as we see it now. But maybe that is ok. Maybe Stratton or Fort or one of these other young turks puts a chip on their shoulder and leads. I think we have the coaches to lead them, unlike the crapweasel snake oil salesman that coached the boys the last several years. Maybe the defense realizes that they no longer have Brett or Thompson or anyone else really explosive on offense and decides that they are the path forward to being competitive. Maybe some of these onery old coots that complain about Wyoming not having enough Wyoming kids on the roster and justify their lack of attendance at the War based on that perception have their bluff called and actually show up (doubtful, but just maybe). Maybe the rest of us - outside of any CJC calling tree or other organized effort - become ambassadors for the program and push, pull and drag our friends to the games with us to fill the bleachers and show the kids and Coach Bohl we are in it with them.
But unlike most of the discussions in the past, with new coaches and new players, I think we have to exhibit patience. We have to realize that we may have our version of Tim Miles. In the short run, things are rough. Over the long term, we have a winner.
