Here is the actual Time list. We are 286 in the world according to their ranking. That would be #99 in the US overall and #61 in public universities.
I know that this is a sports board but there has been some discussion about what is causing our sports to continue on a downward trend. Some have stated that our university as a whole is dropping and it's inevitable. I just thought these articles had some good insight into the state of our University as a whole. Also, I thought it was interesting that some of their criteria was how successful graduates are from each university when it comes to Entrepreneur's and also moving up in big companies. My thought was, if we are doing good in that dept then why don't we have any donors to help with sports?? Are we just not asking our successful Alumni or do we even know who they are? Just some thoughts this afternoon.

I’m guessing they don’t feel the current leadership has the ability (mentality or strategy) to turn dollars into on-field success.
The world of higher education is anything but simple.
My understanding is that higher ed in general is not trending great. If you are the cream of the crop, you probably still are today even if things aren't going well in general. I don't know how athletics fits into these types of rankings. Athletics have become so un-moored from the traditional Univiersity mission that it doesn't really apply.
UW is not a "bad school". It has a really bad athletic department when measured by competetive results and that is what we here spend most of our time talking about. There just isn't much excellence at UW....acedemically or athletically.

I think we have a perfect (shit) storm at UW right now.
-Freedom Cucks are going to really hinder any growth at UW - complete travesty.
-AD and his department have blinders on. They need to be replaced as we all know.
-Alumni association is a joke these days. Like the AD, we need a full makeover.
-Leadership isn't there, and hasn't been for almost 20 years now. Work harder my ass.
-The mess of athletics teams churn (Pac7 vs. MWC) is absolutely rediculous.
-NIL, transfer portal...athletic team pride is a thing of the past. Ride for what brand?
-I wonder when the last time anyone in the AD worked more than a 40 hour week.
ETC. ETC.
Should hire wyoming TSA managment to right the ship. Lol.
