Thugs

It seems to me wyoming has always ran a clean program without any arrests or any of that bullshit you with the Miami's and some other Southern schools. I love this about Wyoming but sometimes those "Thugs" can really play ball. Would it be worth recruiting them if it got us up to Utah's level of play?

BYU doesn't recruit thugs....lol Mormon thugs...... there's a thought.

Coaching was the issue at UW, Coach Glenn was a good coach who had no clue how to adjust on offense, Christensen will not have this issue. As soon as Christensen finds the right QB for his system(Could be Adam Barry) and an above average RB and WR corps you will see success at UW. The Pokes always have strong defenses.

I think things will work out, Dave will be given enough time to make things work.

I wonder if RB James Davis will have a breakout year in 09', he is the perfect scat back for this offense.

Running a clean program and making the headlines the right way is DEFINITELY better than thugs. As I can attest to (being here in Montana) we've taken some REALLY crappy press from local, national papers as well as the web (ESPN, etc) because of the run-ins Montana and Montana State have had with "thugs." Mostly kids from out of state, but the latest involved a kid from right here in Missoula, one from Spokane, and another from out of state. BAD press, all were redshirts or freshmen now off the team. It's definitely not worth it. It cost Mike Kramer his job at Montana State and has caused Bobby Hauck not to move up to a PAC-10/WAC/MWC type of job as of yet.

Slugger...just because you don't "hear" about it, via ESPN or Fox Sports, or any of the lame-ass Wyoming media, doesn't mean that things don't "go on". They do...and they have. Yes, and under the nose of our former beloved HC.

No doubt that every program has internal issues, but I think the point was that Wyoming has a relatively clean program comparably. The program hasn't had kids continually getting in legal troubles. Do I believe some things are convienently overlooked, yes. But on the whole I do believe that Wyoming is one of the cleaner programs in terms of legal troubles and NCAA infractions.

No doubt Wyoming has been pretty clean, and obviously things go on that are swept under the rug. However, Wyoming hasn't had problems that you can't sweep under the rug like other programs. Nebraska just had a lineman on trial for sexual assault, even the squeaky clean Mormons have had DUIs and mop beatings  (although not by the FB team).

You don't hear about robberies, drug dealers, or any of those big crimes that you can't hide here in Laramie. I definitely think you can have a good program without having to recruit the "thugs."

Mr. Titleist yes it cost Cramer his job and that suck he was the scapegoatcuz honestly i felt he was a better coach then glenn and Hauk i do not believe Hauk is that great of a coach yes he wins but so did glenn and he was unable to win at wyoming i think Cramer would do well in D1 and he deserves a job

Unfortunately for Mike K, he had a bad habit of sticking his foot in his mouth.. always good for a soundbite though. He was definitely the fall man for MSU football, but it had to start somewhere, and it wasn't going to be the AD. Hauck > Kramer. Ha! :)

Recruit thugs so we can improve the quality of our on field production? The answer is not only "no", it's "hell no". That's not how we do things in the Cowboy state.

Absolutely! I don't have a problem with players that like to party and have fun, I know I do, but thugs need not apply. I have a hard time rooting for players that make me wonder if my kids are safe around them. Thugs would end up being more of a distraction at UW anyway, not sure it would help much.

Wyoming people are smart, helpful, and fun loving, but also TOUGH, we HAVE to be in the winter, and we wouldn't put up with much crap from thugs anyway.
