I've watched the Rams a few times this year. Garrett Grayson appears to be an above-average QB with a solid RB in Nwoke. Those two make their offense go. They aren't great, or even good for that matter on offense, bu those two pose a threat. Shaquil Barrett may be the best LB in the MWC, but that defense is no good even with him. Some people overreacted to the close score going into the 4th against Alabama, but I'm ignoring that considering that result looks like an aberration compared to the rest of their work this season. What do you guys think? Their offense can score some, but I would be surprised if they scored anymore on UW than they did last year (31). It would not be a good sign going forward IMO if the Pokes coughed up anymore than that to the Rams. Smith should eviscerate this team like he always has on offense. What do you guys think?

Wyoming can't afford to stall on offense, because our defense has not been tested at all by quarterbacks with decent passing. We've seen terrible passers come up with good passing numbers against us (though much of that because we've sold out to stop the run), so it'll be "interesting" to see how we do against a solid passer who isn't very mobile. Anything can happen in a rivalry game, so Brett and his receivers better be sharp!

The Sheep will score some points for sure. They seem to play sloppy ugly football on offense and get it done to a certain level.
They have been good on special teams, and bad on defense.
Grayson will probably throw for quite a bit, and a TD or two, but also throw a pick or two.
They will run the ball a lot, well as much as we let them.
And screen passes.

But they are not on our level. Especially in Laramie.
But they do know it's the Border War.
This game could very well be close, too close for comfort.

But CSU seems to be bailed out by their special teams. If we tackle on punts, and boot the ball through the endzone the Pokes can make sure CSU does not keep it close.
But if we play on special teams like we did against NM, it will be another close game.

Just my thoughts on what we will probably see with the csu on offense. csu has a decent ground game with three capable RBs. They know our main defensive weakness is oh rushing. I think we will see all three with significant carries. We may see an average passing game to try and keep us up off the run just enough. Maybe 25 passes. Probably 40 + carries.

don't get lured in on cheap plays, personal fouls, play within themselves and Kick the Sheeep's aaaasssss

To that last bit, special teams seems to be our biggest weakness though, so that could pose problems

Punter aside, pretty much.

Yeah, but our return and.coverage teams arent exactly enough.to make up for a decent-to-good punter

Defense keeps a team in the game. Our defense and kick coverage will do everything to keep CSEwe in the game. CSEwe's will do likewise. This one will be close, but I think Smith will come out of the scrum with the game ball.

If both defenses are bad..."keeping eachother in the game" then the better offense wins...And that isn't even close...
Wyo offense is way better than CSU offense.

I'm excited to play a team like this. It'll give Yarborough and Puletasi the opportunity tee off against a passing QB instead of playing against the top rushing teams in the country every week. Idaho tried to throw the ball more than not, and Yarborough had 3 sacks and 6 TFL. Puletasi had 2 sacks.

Bring on Derek Carr and the Fresno offense. I'm serious. Honestly, I can't wait to see what kind of pressure we can put on non-mobile QB's like Fales and Carr. Carr gets rid of the ball pretty quickly, but we're gonna sack Fales a bunch. Grayson is more mobile, and I guarantee he's be flushed repeatedly. I can't wait for Saturday!

Carr may not do it very often, but he can run.

The Pokes offense needs to score early and often for that to work. Make CSU play against a big deficit. Otherwise, why would they throw the ball? They will run it downhill and only throw off of play action which will stall the pass rush.

I agree that in passing situations (3rd and Long, big deficits), Yarborough and Puletasi can bring pressure, but I am not confident we will ever be able to put them in those situations. Is Texas State's OL and RB corps really that much better than CSU's? I don't think so. Fortunately, CSU's defense is much worse than Texas State and I expect a much sharper performance from Brett Smith and the Wyoming offense against CSU. It will be a high scoring game. The only thing keeping it from being a ridiculous scoring game will be CSU's run game running the clock. I don't think the Punters will have much to do on Saturday.
