1. WOW. I keep hearing about a miracle comeback with Welniak back in the 80s - not sure the details, but I'm sure this has to rank up there in terms of miracle comebacks. They'll be talking about this game for years and years to come.
2. Reading some of the posts - I'm not going to throw Bladerunner under the bus - cause I was feeling the same way midway through the third quarter. I was thinking whether I really wanted to drive up to Laramie to watch the Pokes get DESTROYED by TCU. Well, now I do.
3. I have never seen momentum make so much of a difference in a game. The offense couldn't do ANYTHING after the fumble at the goal line, and then suddenly, after the third quarter, everything clicked - even plays that had been FAILING through the entire game, like running right up the middle, turned into 36-yard touchdowns. The offense is still too damn inconsistent.
4. Good to meet you, David Tooley. Hope to see you again the next two weeks.
5. The way SDSU ran up and down the field - especially in the third quarter - I wanted to rip my hair out - but I had to remind myself the linebackers were missing Hendricks and Knapton was slowed.
6. ACS - MWC freshman of the year.
7. Speaking of freshmen, just about every huge play besides the blocked punt was by a true freshman. Alvester with the touchdown/lateral, Tooley with the big catches, Kenny Browder with the fumble recovery and Ghaali Muhammad breaking up the hail mary at the end of the game. Oh yeah - and the game winner by Ian Watts, who should be the MWC special teams player of the week again.
8. I'd still like to see more pressure on the quarterback and the wide receivers- Lindley seemed to have all day to throw and the dbs were 10 yards off the ball.
9. Crazy stats:
Wyoming scored more points in the fourth quarter last night (24) than they have in their 5 losses (20)
In their five wins, they've averaged 31.2 points per game. In their five losses, 4 points per game
Wyoming has been scored 176-266 this season
10. What a difference a quarter makes - After three quarters, we were all ready to go ballistic after another bad performance by the offense in a game the Pokes had to win. One quarter later - damn. I still don't know how the Pokes won this game.
11. No, I don't see much hope for next week. I'm just hoping the Pokes put up a good fight and no one (like ACS) gets injured.
12. I don't remember the last time the football team won a a huge game on the road. Now they have to finish the job and win one more in two weeks. Last night was a great win for the program. Getting one more win would be HUGE.
