Thoughts on NCAA Football 12?

Defense has been markedly improved, especially zone. Big d-linemen can now dominate o-linemen. Running the ball has been improved with much better blocking, and tackling looks pretty sweet too. However, passing even on the easy settings is really hard, with LBs popping up to knock down passes, and WRs seem retarded half the time. RTG and Dynasty have been overhauled and improved, such as BCS Bowl tie ins, starting off as an OC or DC, and in RTG playing ironman football throughout your high school season, not to mention actually having to EARN your scholarship. However, in RTG, it takes forvever to load things (lots of lag). There actually seems to be quite a bit of lag as overall as well.

Overall, it is still fun, but there are some glaring issues that should have been fixed during development.

I've liked it so far. Agree with everything you said......still some issues here and there. And whats with every player who has dreads looking like Bob Marley? Not every dread-locked player has his hair halfway down his back.

So far I'm in love with '12. I've had some really exciting games so far. One of my favorites was a hail mary with no time remaining to beat Iowa State 49-48.

I've been practicing up as San Jose State for our online dynasty.. I'm getting curbstomped with those guys. Won a squeaker against Utah St, got beat down by Colorado State... tough to play as an all D team.. but we'll prevail!

I have to ask, in RTG, does anybody else's game keep partially freezing during gameplay? I swear it seems to happen on nearly every down. The game pauses for a second or two, then keeps going. And the game has actually frozen on me twice so far. The second time was tonight, minutes after turning it on. How many others are having these problems?

It's a no huddle glitch with this year's game. It's really annoying.
you mean its not just the part where we make the qb stand there and try to decipher hieroglyphics on the sideline before each play?

Yeah im having the same thing too, when running no huddle it will freeze for a few seconds and then resume. I agree the game is all around better, but your right, passing is way difficult even on easy :brick:

passing is way hard! i was playin against my most hated school, penn state, and i won 24-9. but smith threw 6 ints, and pittser threw 4. lol maybe it is me, and that i cant throw the ball, unless its vertical ha. however, alexander had a good game, 27 rushes, 153 yds, 3 tds haha

Does anybody else have problems with the play calling screen going blank and you cannot call a play? I have to go recent plays and pick square and then everybody huddles around the center until they bump the dline to get a offsides. It usually fixes itself after that, but fuck you think some of these glitches would have been found in testing. Hire me to test I will tell you exactly what is wrong the game. It also appears that the wildcatter suites have been added to the west bleachers while the east bleachers remain open...

Personally, no. But from reading the EA forums on this game, your not the only one that has had that problem. Mine is that I tend to pass under 50% completions. Due to:
1. WRs not trying to catch the ball.
2. DBs knowing the routes better than my recievers.
3. LBs popping out of no where to swat down short passes when the long one don't work.
4. DBs getting super human speed and and my formerly wide-open reciever now has 4 guys covering him after I've thrown the ball.

I've heard about the freezing up.
I've heard about the passing game not working well. I love to pass 2 out of 3 times.

I heard that in Dynasty when you can customize your conferences that a conference had to have between 4 and 16 teams.
So does this mean we can have 30 - 4 team conferences? Or 7 - 16 team conferences and 1 with 8? And I guess we can assign some teams as Independents.

I'd like to take the teams I hate the most and put them in a conference with NO automatic bowl bid or just 1 bowl bid to the least prestigious bowl.

This is a pretty sweet feature I have played about season and a half and added UNR, FSU, and UH, put TCU in the big least. But they make you play nine conference games so I booted UNM out of the conference. I also gave the MWC an auto bid. I am thinking I will explode the Big 3 and add a few schools making the MWC 14 with a championship game.

The coverage is much improved this year. The CPU doesn't let you get away with as much as in years past. The passing game can work, but you have to be much more aware in the pocket.

I haven't experienced any of the glitches mentioned in this thread. I must be lucky.

In one of my Dynasty games, I made the MWC a 16 team conference with the current MWC teams along with BYU and Utah teambuilder teams (none lower than 4 stars, and stadiums no smaller than 40,000). The other teams I added were Texas, Arkansas, teambuilder Colorado, USC, and Iowa with an autobid to the Fiesta Bowl. I named the divisions North and South with a pretty even split.
North:
BSU
Wyoming
CSU
AFA
Utah
Nebraska
Iowa
Colorado

South
USC
Texas
Arkansas
UNM
UNLV
SDSU
TCU
BYU (better than AFA going South)

All at least 4 stars with large stadiums, and overall rankings are all in the 90s (with Wyoming 99 across the board, oof course  ).

OK I bought this game. It is not good. There is no way I can give it more than 5* out of 10*.
I'm definitely not going to say all the problems I've found so far in this product (but those guys need me there LOL).
It would be nice to do a lot of things like simulating which teams we want to win etc.

One problem that happens a couple of times a game is the commentary not matching the action.
When I scored a touchdown the commentary said I was going to punt the ball away.
Sometimes if I'm inside my 20 it will say I'm on the opponent's side of the field.
Just lots of shitty problems.
Once again I believe they are laughing all the way to the bank.
