Thoughts for Boise St

Not really sure how to feel about this one, part of me thinks we'll blow them out, but then again, they are still tough even tho they are missing Drmic. Leon Rice usually has them play well in Laramie, i think it'll be a close one but I sure hope many many fans come out we come close to 8k at the AA, afterall it's time to start believing. Just glad we don't have to play them at their place this season

Cmon fans, Cmon Pokes let's get this one done, UW- 66 Boise St 58

They still have Marks playing. And even though they are 10-5 and dropped their last three, those last three were a 3 point loss to 12-3 Loyola Ill., a six point loss at 14-2 CSU, and a one point loss to 9-6 USU, who has been coming into their own as of late.
They are still a good/ dangerous team. Their 0-2 record shouldn't fool anyone right now.
If we play like we do game in and game out, we should be okay, if we lapse anywhere we could be in serious trouble.
That being said. I think Shyatt will have these guys prepared and ready to go to work Saturday. Cowboys win it 73-65!

Wyoming needs to be ready to play or they will get beat. Boise is still a good team and their backs are against the wall after starting 0-2 in conference. Wyoming has to show up every game.

I think were in for another tough game. I think we pull it out, we are at home and have a lot of momentum right now. Boise is a good team and in my opinion, they have a very good coach.

If there is one thing we are guaranteed, it is effort on the defensive side of the ball. That alone will keep us in ball games if we struggle on the other end of the floor. Our boys come to play every night on defense and that means they always have a chance

I think we would pull 10K with students in town, but they will slowly start funneling in this month until school starts up again, regardless the crowd will be solid and loud. 4 PM starts are probably perfect. I am excited to see what happens.

Go Pokes!

Also, keep in mind that Marks was hurt and didn't play in that Loyola game.

The USU loss was a little fluky. They came out flat, but eventually took over only to blow it in the last minute. Very similar to our game against SJSU except that we closed it out.

Boise will be a top half team when it is all said and done. This would be a quality win for the Pokes.

Not to sound like a broken record, but it is really all about Nance's health. Boise is vulnerable in the front court. Rice likes to play Nick Duncan alongside an undersized guy like James Webb III or even a big guard (Trent, Igor, Heyer, etc.) which makes them very tough to defend with 5 shooters. However, Duncan is terrible on defense and Nance would destroy him or any of the undersized players they want to play there (I think Webb is a very good player, but not strong enough to handle Nance). If Nance is healthy, I think Rice is going to have to play Kevin Allen more. Hopefully that limits what they can do on offense.

Thompson is the difference maker from my point of view. Marks will get his and he will keep Adams busy the whole game, but that leaves Grabau trying to stay in front of Thompson. That's a tough task.

Wyoming did a pretty good job of not letting Gillon torch them in Moby, but you could see that we didn't have anyone that could really stay in front of him. Thompson isn't that quick, but he is bigger and will be a handful.

Should be a good game. Huge opportunity for the Pokes with BSU and SDSU coming to Laramie over the next week.

Woke up this morning thinking it was saturday and it was gameday! Damnit!

As long as Wyo doesn't look ahead to San Diego State we should win.
If pokes are ready to play at home then we can control the tempo, work the inside, and pull away with the 3, and be 4-0 in MWC play and 15-2 overall with a Top 25 ranking as well. Or at least close to it.

My concern would be a letdown after a big emotional win wednesday. Hopefully, we don't come out flat and they don't shoot lights out.

Thank God that Jeff Elloragia graduated. I still have nightmares about the shooting clinic he put on last year in Laramie.

I get worried about that with each and every win.

Here in Shyatts 4th year, the team is truly ready to make a BIG run this season. The problem about being there? The last 2 seasons our season got derailed unexpectedly so we can't really say "Win like you've been there before".

I think we all agree that the Pokes are primed to do something special, just as special as if Luke didn't get suspended and Larry didn't tear his ACL, but instead of either 1 CBI and 2 NIT or 1 CBI 1 NIT and 1 BIg Dance, or even 1 CBI and 2 Big Dance, this team is trying to make that jump from 3 CBIs, having "feel good" seasons 'giving the circumstances' all the way to MWC Champs and Big Dance. The team is physically able to do it. I am just worried about the mental make up of them.

Not the mental make up when things are going bad- I believe they can right any ship. I'm worried about what happens everything is going our way. I don't want to watch us beat Boise State, and San Diego State, just to go lose in Fresno.

But, for now, it's just focus on Boise State.

With Drmic out, BSU becomes a bit one-dimensional. Offensively, either Nance or Cooke will give Duncan a lot of trouble. I think this could be one of our highest scoring games, but I also think Shy' might limit Nance's floor time quite a bit if we get out ahead early. I think we cover handily in this one, personally, but we can't take it for granted. Good spot for Grabau to show back up, Cooke to score high, and McManemen and Herndon to make statements.

They have that Worland secret weapon too....lol
I would trade the Worland kid for Bentz I one millisecond.

yeah being a Brown and Gold kid in his heart that mighta been a wonderful fit, just hope he doesn't give us fits

I still have nightmares of being up 15-0 last year and losing to BSU. Lets hope Papa Shy has them ready and Nance is good to go

Boise State has no scoring options outside of Derrick Marks. They play a lot of guys, but very few of them outside of Webb III make a legitimate impact. The 4-Star recruit and Wacker have been disappointments as freshman so far, producing near to nothing. If Derrick Marks is on, the Broncos have a chance. I still think Wyoming wins by 6-10 even in that case. If Marks is off, Boise State has no scoring options and this will be a rout.

Boise State has been recruiting impressively as of late. Paris Austin and Malek Harwell are surprising grabs for them in this class, as was Hutchison and Wacker in last year's class. But it remains to be seen if Leon Rice can develop any of these guys. Hutichson is a consensus Top 100 recruit and they get nothing out of the kid.

Wyoming 68, Boise State 50.

Can't take anyone lightly, As proven by what SJSU did to use anyone can beat anyone else on any given day.
