This was an absolute BS loss........

The whole offense is suspect. We have some athletes in the skill positions, but just don’t have a game plan that seems to set them up for success. I mean, when you’re playing the WORST defense in the country, you should be able to score at will. The throw inside the 5 reminded me of the stupid flea flicker that we ran twice in one game last year. Getting cute at the wrong time and it bit us in the ass. Damn we let one get away.
We were going up against the statistically worst pass defense in all of D1 and we ran the ball even when they were stuffing us at the line. This staff has no confidence that the QB will make the right decisions and/or can throw it accurately. We only throw when were so far behind that we are forced to. Why we are playing a qb who is marginal passer and a zero threat runner is anyone's guess.

Our first scoring drive was pretty. We had the QB make easy throws and got the ball into the playmakers hands
I was surprised the wheels sort of fell off. Lack of critical conversion and turnovers were too much. The offense moves the ball but cannot sustain drives.

If you told me WYO would have over 400 yards and AF would be under 400 yards with only 24 points, I'd predict a win. This offense must figure out how to close. Svoboda throwing was uncalled for. I don't know why this staff won't identify what works, why it's working, and keep exploiting it until they stop it. It's almost like they think they have such few things that work, they have to be tricky and also not overuse the stuff that is working. In the meantime all the other tricky plays or "decoys" kills the drives. It's not one of the worst offenses I've seen but definitely one of the worst scoring offenses I've seen.

The defense did a decent job against a pretty solid AF offense. I would have liked them to shorten a few of their drives up but overall decent job by Junior and the D.

AF vs WYO games are always tough especially on the road. Bohl never beat them down there except with JA. In a vacuum, that's sort of how I look at it. We'll find out how much buy-in the players have and if PBJ still has them plugged in or not. Critical Border War. It feels like if that goes well, there's hope to gather up a few more wins. If it doesn't, I'm fearful we'll see the late season "pack it in early" mentality again.

First, the 400 yards of offense is misleading, as it always is in our case.. About 75 of those yards came on the garbage drive at the end of the game when Air Force was up 10.
When we get into the red zone, we can't roll Anderson out because he likes to run backwards when he gets pressured. Plus, he's not a run threat so the defense just has to key on the single back in the back field. Anderson played his worst game yesterday. He hit wide open receivers in the flat and on short routes. Anyone can make those throws. When he has to make multiple reads or throw into a tight window, the drive is over.
When the game was in doubt, we had less than 150 yards passing against the worst pass defense in all of D1. So yeah, I would call this one of the worst offenses I've ever seen at UW. Frankly, I'm always surprised when we complete a forward pass. Anderson should have been benched after that awful throw off his back foot that sealed the loss. The fact that he wasn't tells you all you need to know about the incompetence of this coaching staff.
