A dried up Irish Setter dog turd could have maintained...what has been maintained...athletically, at the University of Wyoming. He has cultured and grown a breeding ground for mediocrity and apathy. He works as little as possible, as little as he can, and has assembled a staff that rivals the three stooges, but with less skill, and less presence. He has dummied down the department to a very comfortable level...and will forever keep it that way. He has done nothing to buck the trend, to rock the boat...to create the sleeping giant that Wyoming athletics even once was.
If you give Burman credit for hiring and winning, you have to give him credit for hiring and losing, and firing and losing. And extending and still losing. And all that other shit. But...take that all out of the equation, and the guy is about as lazy and uninspiring an athletic director as we could have. But he gets a free pass, because he is a "Wyoming Guy." And he gets a free pass, because by and large, Wyoming fans of today - DON"T KNOW WHAT IT IS LIKE TO BE A WINNER...and most are fine with that...as there is always next year.

McPeachy I more than respect what you wrote, but while your note is long on hearsay, it is short on substance and details.
In regard to your points about Burman being lazy and his staff being incompetent, would you kindly provide some information about these two elements with some specifics?
I look forward to your more detailed response to bolster your argument and points of view.
All I can tell you...and all that I am willing to say in this forum for all to read, is that I have first hand experience on several fronts, in regards to how he runs his department, how he works, and the efforts (or lack of) he puts into the position. There are many media (public) available details about his performance / leadership / management style out there, but it seems people forget, or want to bury their head in the sand. He is a Wyoming guy, so we are all good. There is very little, if any, accountability - and that is sad. For instance, who can get away with submitting an athletics plan (or business plan for comparison) that is filled with TBD's and TBA's?
I often think about (for comparison sake) what Jack Graham & Tony Frank accomplished in 2 years at CSewe, a school that is basically second (or third) fiddle in a state that is not only financially unstable, but overly political, amongst having many other roadblocks. I am sure everyone here can draw their own conclusions to that. And some will refuse to see it...but that is typical of a large portion of the Wyoming population or "fanbase."
Either way, Burman won't be here some day, and neither will Shyatt or Bohl, or whomever. But I will always be a Wyoming fan, and will always want Wyoming to be the very best. Number 1. In everything...academically and athletically. And maybe that is my baggage (or lack of reality some would say) to lug around for life...but I am fine with that. I am all Wyoming...and I refuse as a booster / fan / donor / whatever to settle with just being - being. And yes, it will probably take me to an early grave...but what the hell...at least I didn't lower my standards and expectations.
