I'm sure we all been to a night game, a snow game, and every other type of game played.
That being said what's everyones obsession with having the pokes play a night game?
I must be the only one out there who is totally fine with starting some time between noon and 2.

well we have the lights.

night games are something different, its exciting. i think we should have 1 night game a year, early in the season.

it makes tailgating easier, as you don't have to start drinking at 8 am, you can wait till noon if you like ;)

What was the point of ever putting up lights if no night games are ever held?

We put in lights because:

1) We were in a conference with an ESPN contract. ESPN wanted night games, especially Thursdays
2) We were good enough that ESPN would want to put us on their night game broadcasts

Neither really applies any more. Thus! Day Games!

There is only one real reason we play so few night games...its because attendance is better for Saturday early afternoon kickoff's people can drive down in the morning and still get home in the evening if they choose. Personally I would love to see at least one night game a year.

There is a total different feel for night games. I've been to several Big XII conference night games and its a totally different atmosphere then day games for either the Big XII conference of MWC. There is much more enthusiasm, built-up excitement through the whole day, better tailgaiting, and generally a louder stadium.

Keep in mind there are tons of students at UW who will sleep in till 10 or after on Saturdays so are still just waking up when they get to the game. I imagine if we get back to at least one night game a year we may find it hurts attendance for the season ticket holders who then have to spend the night in Laramie but it will help on the student attendance and associated noise level in the stadium.
