So...don't know how many of you caught this...

"And now for a special announcement from UW athletics"

In the second Burman interview segment, he states, "...we get between 150,000 and 200,000 visitors a year here in the arena - auditorium, which rivals how many visitors go to Grand Teton National Park...", and they flash a picture of the Teton mountain range.

I about shit my pants. First off, we only get 150-200K a year? That is a problem. Again, where is the vision.

Second, I came to this. It could only mean 1 of 3 things:
1. Tom is as intelligent as a mushroom (so why is he our AD)
2. Tom has lost his mind (so why is he our AD)
3. He really doesn't give a shit (so why is he our AD)

FWIW, Grand Teton National Park gets between 2.5 and 3.0 million visitors a year.

The AA's average attendance for men's basketball is what.. 6500? For about 15-20 games might be around 120K. For women's basketball we average around 3000? With the one or two wrestling duals in there a year maybe around 182K. Almost... ALMOST near as many as Grant Teton Park.

Can we trade him for Chris Berman? At least when he goes off, he knows how to use the F-bomb!

It is a hatred that is borderline obsessive it seems.

Fair enough...but I really don't care about how you feel. I can only think of one reason why you would respond to my post that way, and as a word of advise, keep that resume updated, as change is inevitable.

Probably. I am sure I have stated my case for change enough around here.

My expectations (and frankly time) are running low / out.

Count me in the small group that wants more than the status quo for my favorite school / state / athletic teams.

Definitely not a small group wanting big things for favorite school..

You are just apart of a small group that chooses to drag their AD's name through the dirt.

I don't think it is a small group that knows Burman is in over his head. Too bad Sternberg didn't get about 6 more months on the job.

I will buy that. And at that, I guess I am done - what is the point after all? Everyone here knows how I feel. I am embarrassed to say that there are even other fanbases that love the fact we have in charge - who we have in charge.

Simply put, I feel pillaged, beaten, and neglected - from almost every angle, when it comes to Wyoming athletics the last 8 years. I will be the guy timbering the bar when change is made though!

Anyone who appreciates how it felt to win pretty much feels the same way, While you are more vocal about it, This absolutely is not a small group of people that feel this way. It's just a small group of vocal people. I feel the same way I also feel like it's beating a dead horse and at this point I welcome the day the AD changes.

For what it's worth (not much), I'm with you bud. I'll never tire of agreeing with someone that Tom Burman is not a good athletics director for the University of Wyoming.

I'm of the opinion that if Wyoming had a better than average AD leading this ship for the last eight years, the hiring of someone like Craig Bohl wouldn't have been looked at as such a surprise or even a lateral or step down move from NDSU by many.

You can't rock the boat at Wyoming though. It seems like you just have to wait for the better run programs to keep elevating and leave so you don't look as bad.

The people who think Burman's days should be few are definitely not a small group, nor are they inconsequential to the University. Burman's gotten more latitude than just about any past AD due to his roots in Laramie, but patience has worn thin...

Burman is an able AD, with a passion for UW sports and an understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities afforded at UW. In short, he's in a tough situation--but at each decision moment, he has made calls that at the time looked pretty damn good. The didn't all work out. That's the reality of heading a sports program in a rural state. But based on the information and people available at the time, good calls, every f'in one of them.

When the outcomes are not what are desired in DI sports programs, of course, there will be many calling for the AD's head to roll--I get that. But it is short-sighted. Just as there are those calling for his head, though, recognize that there are also those of us who can see bright prospects ahead for both men's football and basketball. With Burman at the helm, I am pretty optimistic about the next four years, which I predict will consist of upper third-tier conference finishes for both sports and a MWC championship in one of them. Mark my word. Wanna bet a whiskey? Have some vision dammit; and don't be blind to the process unfolding right in front of your eyes . Go Pokes.
