They need some defensive end help BIG TIME

I've read that Defensive End is a big focus on this recruiting season - it needs to be - and frankly, a JUCO defensive end would be a GREAT idea.

Looking at the roster - here are the defensive ends that are coming back next year. You'll notice they either have ZERO experience or are GROSSLY underweight. :?

Really - how much good weight can you put on in 9 months? 25 pounds?

That being said, this roster is from the beginning of the year - so I don't know if those weights are accurate.

I'm wondering if some more players will move to defensive end? One of the running backs or larger linebackers?

91 Carl Granderson Defensive end FR HS 6-6 200 Sacramento, Calif. (Grant)
86 Adam Kinder Defensive end JR SQ 6-2 246 Newport Beach, Calif. (Newport Harbor)
99 Brent Gilliland Defensive line FR HS 6-2 262 Sterling, Colo. (Sterling)
42 Kevin Prosser Linebacker FR HS 6-2 197 Aurora, Colo. (Overland)
68 Trevor Meader Defensive end SO TR 6-4 222 Lincoln, Neb. (Wayne State College)

From what I've seen, there's been no commitments from D-Ends, but the Trib has 15 scholarship offers:

Can't win with Jucos. Or so they say. Not like we can win with high school kids either though

Andersen recruited a lot of JuCo's to Utah State.
Why would we wanna do what they did?

You're forgetting about Treavor Meader, but I agree. We need to find some DEs. I have no concerns about Granderson, but we still need at least two more good ones. Prosser will be good if he can grow and actually stays at DE and doesn't move to LB.

I bet Granderson comes in at 240 next year. I read that he gained 10 lbs during the season, which is remarkable.

Fixed. Thanks.

If Granderson comes in a 240 - that would be better. Not 250-260 better - but not light enough that it sets off alarms. If he's going to be a starter and take 1/2 to most of the snaps, he's going to get wiped out after a few games at only 200-210.

The juco defensive ends are not going to like the coaching ,they will need to be raised in the program most high school players will not know the difference.

Bohl likes DEs around 245, ala Kyle Emmanuel, now a LB for the Chargers. While it would great if Granderson reaches 240 as a Soph, I think 220 may be more likely. But 240 by junior year.

Think you may be correct unfortunately. Our JUCO DE wussed out this year.
