So many missed FTs.
So many turnovers.
So many chances to pull away-even to make it a 2 score game.
Missed buzzer beater at end of regulation.
Missed buzzer beater at end of OT.
2 MISSED FUCKING FREE THROWS BY LARRY NANCE TO WIN IT WITH NO TIME LEFT IN 2OT!
How did we come away with this win?

We won't be ranked come Monday, but this team is still on track to win a lot of MWC games and make the Tourney!

4 straight road wins including 3-0 on the road in MWC play!

I have never watched a game so nerv-racking and exciting. I'm pretty sure that game just took 5 years off my life.

GO POKES!

Not only that but we still keep legitimate hopes of contention for a mw title ( 1st non McClain team of the Tom Burman era for any sport).

How had legerski not won a title with Utah leaving?

To be fair, the swimming team and women's soccer team both finished in second. We're close at several sports.

Legerski hasn't been able to match the success he had with Hanna and company. It's been six years now and we've under achieved consistently. If he wasn't a Rock Springs guy he would probably already be gone.

26 wins. I maintain that's what is needed to have a chance on Selection Sunday. (Including MW tourney wins)

Legerski is doing fine. This year is down, especially after losing Cotton to injury. But they are building back up as well.

Wow. never been to a game that was such garbage yet so awesome at the same time! Too bad we won't be ranked but 22 and 24 lost, hopefully we won't be too far out.

I don't think we fall all that far out. A win over NM may be enough to pop us back in.

But I noticed #24 lost twice this week.
#19 is on their way to a second loss this week.
#22 beat #11 but then lost to an unranked team
#21 lost their only game this week.
#18 lost to #16 but then beat #24 (see above)

But more importantly for our ranking, the teams right behind us:
Ohio State went 1-1 this week.
Michigan State went 1-1 this week including getting whooped by #14
Providence went 1-1 this week
LSU also went 1-1 this week.
But Dayton won both games this week, so they will likely jump up.
Indiana plays @ Illinois tomorrow.

So yes a lot of teams in the high teens, and 20's lost including us, but a lot of the teams knocking on the door also lost.
Dayton should be in. Okie State should be out. Other than that? A lot could change, or nothing could change.

I will be interested in the polls Monday just to see how the voters feel about the games this weekend.

Volleyball team had a shot as well. In fact our olympic sports may be the best they have been in a very long time at Wyo. Consistently in the top 4 in the MWC lately for most of them.

Some very good coaching hires in that group lately

I'm very proud of these guys. A win's a win no matter how it happened. MAybe Larry was being the ultimate sportsman my missing those two on purpose; making up for that terrible, unnecessary call with .5 left in double OT. lol lol

My theory on free throw shooting proficiency is that you go thru a strenuous workout, run 5 miles, THEN come in, when all you want to do is go to sleep, and practice free throws (unless your name is Riley). Remember, FT's seem to count most near the end of a game, when you are exhausted (if your'e not exhausted, you haven't played hard enough)

When I was a freshman in high school Coach Buckalew required us to hit 16 of 20 FT's with him watching. If you could not do it you had to shoot granny style in the game. The threat of that humiliation was enough to get a bunch of boys to practice free throws almost to excess. I do not know if he would have followed through with the threat because we all hit our 16!

A foul is a foul, regardless of the situation. If Guerrero had gotten that steal and threw up a prayer 3 pointer that went in...we'd be crying for that foul to be called.
