THE University of Wyoming @ Ohio State

4-1 Wyo @ 8th ranked, 4-0 Ohio State.

3 days away!

Now, don't get me wrong, I don't think we will beat Ohio State in Columbus, but, we all know Shyatt has gotten the Pokes to beat ranked teams before. We do know that we will force Ohio State to play our style of game. That is one thing that Shyatt does very good, is make teams play Wyo basketball.
We aren't going to try and out run Ohio State. We aren't going to try and out power Ohio State.
We are going to play defense, and move the ball around the perimeter, shoot 3's and attack the rim.
I don't expect either team to get into the 70's on Monday.

This game will tell a lot about our team. A win or a hard fought game, then Wyo will be a threat in the MWC this season, a blowout, then we know we have some problems.

I can't wait for Monday.

Larry Nance should have a big crowd there, hopefully he plays the best game of his career on Monday night.

On a side note, does a Wyo win in Columbus put the Pokes in the Top 25?

I think it would shoot them up into the 30s no doubt. Hard to crack the Top 25 early in the season until people start losing.

Buckeyes will present a really tough test, to state the obvious. I would be thrilled with a semi-close loss.

I grimace at the thought of our team playing a top 10 Big 10 team with such little front court depth. I hope Nance and Cooke find a way to stay out of foul problems otherwise it will get ugly.

I cannot wait to be at that game! driving in from eastern pa, meeting a friend that goes to OSU. I have tix but im tryin to get as close to the court as possible

Nice!
I am jealous, I would love to go to that game.
Now that Wyo football won, it's hoops time again!
I really hope Wyo has a good showing!

Is the University of the State of Wyoming one of the 25 best teams in the country right now?

I would love a win, but I agree that our frontcourt size and depth has me worried this year.

CU was a good measuring stick. That was a game we should have won.

This game will show some, but not many teams go into Columbus and win. If it were a neutral court game I'd be ok with the measuring stick term.

I just hope we compete well.

I think the team landed in Columbus.
Nance just tweeted something, and a few hours before that, his tweet was "enroute to ohio".
Hope they get a nice walk through, and get rested for the game tomorrow.
I wish it wasn't on at 5 though, I won't be able to watch or listen to it past 530. Just have to check my phone I guess.

I expect this to be a typical Big-10 conference kind of game. Which is to say it will be like watching fat people fuck.

Wyoming should play zone against Ohio St. and force them to shoot jumpers. Ohio St. is not a very good jump shooting team and they do not have a great inside presence. They are very athletic however. They do more damage getting to the rim and of course they play great defense. Aaron Craft is probably the best defensive point guard in the country. OUr guards will have their hands full.

I'm not saying Wyoming will win but the best way to stay close in this game by playing zone and forcing Ohio St. to shoot contested jumpers.

I agree with this 100%, but Craft didn't graduate? I swear he's been there for the past 8 years

No not yet lol. It seems he has been there forever but he is still there. He is a senior this year.

He is one of my favorite players to watch. Love the way he plays defense and hustles. That said I hope the Cowboys go into Columbus and win.

When we need a guard to step up and match what another guard does, it has to be Adams.
It might get ugly, chippy, rough, personal, whatever. But if we want to slow down Craft, we need Adams to be in his face ALL night long, and not get into foul trouble.
And he needs to match Craft offensively.
He needs to take it to Craft hard, and often, and hopefully Craft gets into foul trouble.

But, with Adams personality on the court, he will be up for the challenge.

Yeah agreed, he has been maybe my favorite guard to watch, even though I hate the Buckeyes, for the past 10 (or 3...) years
