The reason we lost

is because Lieberman played 35 min and sucks. The fact that he plays over Washington, Marshall and James makes me sick. No one can tell me with a strait face that Lieberman should get more than 5 min a game. What the hell has he done to earn this much credit with Shyatt? geez

I don't mind him early in the game but late in the game watching him drive to the basket makes me want to smash my face into the desk. He had absolutely no business taking it into the paint ever.

They have to go back to Adams playing most or even all of his minutes at pg.

I really want to see Adams with gorski/mcm/James and a big. Noughton or Brendan. And I used to really want them to start 2 bigs.

Yah Liebermann is terrible, but what's more concerning is we don't have a player over 6-4 that can find his ass with both hands.

I actually thought Lieberman played pretty well yesterday when he wasn't driving to the basket. He absolutely shouldn't be driving to the basket. Shyatt said as much after the game. He plays solid D and runs the offense pretty well. Just don't drive the ball. Can knock down shots. Had 7 boards last night along with 7 points. Far from great but also far from sucks.

His play in the second half is the reason we lost. Taking NBA threes and missing point blank layups killed us. He's a minus defender, too.

Lieberman, Aka Gorski, Washington and even McNanamen (the premium of the guards not named Adams) are less than the best options to drive the ball. James is our best option on the team to drive, but looked like a true freshman last night. Seeing Marshall for 1 minute also proves there is no redshirt option being pursued.

We must hope that someone on the roster can play some kind of roll that Adams provides this year. We must hope that someone on the roster can play inside with some kind of authority. Otherwise, we will continue to have to play outside the arc and hope we are hot from 3 point land. That will make it tough to up the win total.

Our whole team's play the final 14 minutes killed us. That T barrage killed any momentum we had. And yeah Lieberman played awful during that time but Shyatt stuck with the rotation that built the 10 point lead. .

Aka Gorski isn't any better. For being a "pure shooter", he sure misses a lot. We need to recruit a "pure maker".

I heard someone say Josh checked him in, not Shy. No clue if there's anything behind that or not though

Yeah this is true. Ryan Holmgren tweeted last night that Adams checked in Marshall and that the coaching staff didn't want him to come in but Adams told him to anyways and told Marshall not to mess up. So then when Marshall was out there he ended up being out of position on defense the whole time and that is why he got pulled out. He wasn't even supposed to be out there in the first place other than Josh forcing it basically according to the tweets.

There was also a tweet about it showing how much the staff trusts Josh. So I don't think it was a case of Josh putting him in there then the staff pulling him out because they didn't want him in there. I think Josh told him to go in for him and the staff said OK lets see how this works. Then seeing how it worked and putting Josh back in.

Haha yes, I like it.

Also, I hate trying to make up scenarios out of hear-say tweets, but if all Adams had to say was "don't mess up", shouldn't that tell us Marshall messes up on a regular basis? If he does everything right in practice, there'd be no reason for Adams to say that as opposed to something more positive.

Dalton might be great once he gains 40 lbs. Herndon has shown no aptitude to play in the post. None of our other bigs have any post presence whatsoever. Naughton has the physical tools, but he has no post moves and he's frequently out of position on defense. Nevada has tough players who seem to like contact around the basket.

So, we really miss Nance and Cooke. No surprise there. Until we decide to use our elbows and fight for space under the basket, we will not have much success.

The real reason we lost, IMO, is our piss poor shooting - which certainly ties into shot selection.

UW is not going to win many games knocking down a paltry 33% from the field (and 28% from 3), especially when the competitor is knocking down 38% and 50% from 3 (7 of 14).

Gorski & Lieberman were a combined 3 of 19...ouch.

For whatever it may be worth, and since sometimes all we can do is find the excuse to drown our sorrows; Coach Shyatt did mention in the post game that the flu bug has affected about 6 players. He specifically mentioned Lieberman, James and Herndon. I get frustrated with Herndon alot but last night he looked like someone drug him behind a truck after each stop in play. You could see his fatigue.

Herndon strikes me as sickly
