The next 7 days

The next 7 days will be very interesting for this football program. We actually have something to look forward to with this Utah State game.

-Bowl eligibility
-Rivalry Trophy game
-Decides DC's fate

If we win, I think DC keeps his job. If we lose, I think there will be a press release Sunday. A ton to look forward to as a fan this week!!

If we win and go to a bowl- Christensen will coach in the bowl game. If he loses the bowl game, he'll be gone next season.

Now, it's entirely possible that even with a 6-6 record, no bowl invitation comes. If that's the case, I'd say Christensen's job is a coin toss. This means, depending on who we might draw in a bowl game, Christensen might have a better chance of keeping his job if he goes 6-6 and Wyoming gets snubbed.

...or maybe the Christensen decision has already been sealed one way or the other. I just have my doubts that the program's direction hinges on the next game.

The terms of a buyout will be predicated on the season's final results. This is a factor in whether or not Christensen is retained.

The only decisions that have been made are the algorithmic pegs and forks of the process.

...you may be correct, but I put a little more stock than you do in that the AD has a bit more insight into the teams' attitude toward the current coaching staff than us board posters. Probably more significant, is he likely has a good handle on the status of the current recruiting efforts--the lifeblood of the program.

Consider, for a moment, the track record of the AD...

Ha, on that subject, let's just agree to disagree. At the current time, the decision is still his to make.

It would appear so, but I wouldn't be at all surprised if there was some influence coming from some places above him.

Good luck getting that asshole to agree to disagree.
What is it with you and the childish name calling?

Oh, nevermind, I just answered my own question...

So calling someone who is a huge asshole, an asshole is a big deal but you saying I have mental issues and all that shit isn't a big deal?

Gotcha! Keep going Wyonavian, you are awesome! :thumb:

That's one thing I've wondered about during the whole Sternberg circus. Burman certainly appeared, to me, anyway, to be part of the group included in Sternberg's scorched-earth inquisition. If so, and if Sternberg really was doing the BOT's bidding, why would Burman now be out of the woods with Sternberg gone? The Trustees are still there, so what's to stop them from having McGinty pull the trigger on Burman's ouster, if that's what they want?

Note, I have no idea if this is the case. It's just one possible scenario cooked up in the space between my ears.

Last sentence bahahaha. Touché.

The BOT is full of academics in a place that has academic issues. They will defer to Burnan because he's the "expert". DC will most likely be fired unless we get a bowl win, Burman will make the call and make the next hire. There will be donors pressing to make a change unless he pulls off a miracle.

Hey wyokie, I have a serious question.
So remember when you threatened to kick me off of Wyonation for using vulgar language, and basically called into the principles office and you gave me a stern talking to?
Yeah, why doesn't that happen to Wyonavian or dino?
How many times have the outright insulted me, or even better, said things like I have mental disorders?
How is that stuff okay, but me dropping the f-bomb too many times isn't okay?

Why? So you limit what I can say, but if I am being attacked you just stay out of it?

Because I'm a moderator which means I have to stay neutral.

I do have my opinions about ALL of this. I'm just smart enough to keep my mouth shut!
