the Jason Thompson era...

Our D did a serviceable job today, The Brett led O did not. I still love the kid and thank him for being a Cowboy, but don't throw this on the D! And fuck ACS, he didn't want to be a Cowboy!
Believe me, I'm happy as hell that Brett showed up. Without him, we'd be Idaho. You're right, today isn't on the D.

ACS did want to be a Cowboy, he came here. What he didn't want was to be a Cowboy and eat shovelfuls of DC's shit that came with it. The players are a lot closer to this clown and that's why they leave by the dozens. They see the trainwreck before most of us fans do. So many of our players leave to join other teams or walk away altogther. How many players do we get from other FBS teams to transfer to Wyoming? All the trafic seems to go one way.

Brett was an excellent quarterback but he is broken. He has taken too many hits and it's clear he doesn't believe in the play'calling anymore. He is afraid to stand in the pocket, until that changes he is done. Hopefully a new coach can fix his problems and bring his confidence back but I wouldn't be surprised if he is done for good.

The play calling has been iffy and his protection has been non-existent. He's a good QB that would excel if he had a line that could keep him upright. He spends half if his time on the field evading tacklers that blew right through the line.

Notice in the broadcast today that both announcers said more than once that the WRs didn't fight to get open, or if Brett was in trouble they never came back for the ball..

Our next coach needs to hire Jovon as receivers coach...
Wish he would have gone with Gary's staff, just to increase his recruiting ties. Keaton was his recruit, knows talent and can deliver.

...can't start soon enough.

Mr. Smith is fatally flawed.

In every aspect....at least with Thompson you get D1 arm strength

Peace

Ya thank god we may lose the guy who has every Wyoming cowboys record I can think of. Can't wait till we lose the guy that still has several mwc records including the ongoing record of consecutive games with a touchdown either ran for or passed for.

Anybody chanting for Brett to leave so we can get someone better is on something drastically dangerous. He had bad games and good games but if Brett played on a team with great receivers and a decent line he would put up Carr like numbers every night. For Brett to do what he does considering the lack of blue chip talent around him is pretty amazing.

Calling Brett anything less than great is stupid.
This team would suck so much without him.
See Cal Poly, AFA, and Nevada last season.
Brett has every Wyo record through his junior year.
Everything next season is icing on the cake.

Hard to blame Brett when even my girlfriend who has only gone to 7 football games ever (1 Beaver game 2 years ago and 6 Wyo games this season) can predict EVERY single play.
She doesn't know the names of the plays, but she knows what is going to happen.
Now, if she can predict this shit, what do you think USU's defense can do???? They are one of the best defenses in the country.
Give Brett a pro style offense, with Wick and the WRs they have, along with a big TE, and watch what Brett can do.

Thompson could be the next great Wyoming quarterback, and has superior arm strength. Brett Smith is the greatest Wyoming quarterback, ever. Does this make him flawless? No. This makes him human. Can't wait for Brett's encore. Poke Nation loves ya buddy and we've got your back.

+1

Brett leaves it on the field. Hes a competitor and I respect his work ethic and demeanor. He is totally committed to winning but at times he tries to hard to force plays or make plays that aren't there. Thats when he gets in trouble, gets a little rattled. The O line that CDC said was the best hes had is awful. They get manhandled at the line of scrimmage and are mostly waist benders. I cant blame Smith for not staying in the pocket. How many times have we seen Smith &Wick run into a lump of linemen where the hole should be? Its disgusting to watch. Ive seen D ends from the opposite side of the play push our entire line on the ground destroying the play. Also getting beat a lot by a 3 man rush. Its not on Brett its on the coaching and schemes. We almost had 2 1000 yd receivers and 1000 yd rusher yet against decent teams we keep getting our asses kicked. Wick had a great quote about our offense on Vorels Twitter. Pretty much sums up everything the whole season in a few sentences.

Speaking of QB's, it was nice to see ACS with another 4th quarter comeback for the second week in a row for Vandy. Too bad our D can't keep us close enough to see Brett lead us to a 4th quarter comeback.
He must've saw a pass-out drunk co ed in the end zone.

I've enjoyed watching BS play (when I can watch).
I see a lot of QBs have bad games because of OL problems. Lots of sieves out there.

I wish the NCAA would lower the amount of scholarships available for the privileged power conferences (I don't care how mad it makes them or the complaints they would have about less scholarship players) and let the teams left out of the power games able to recruit mo' bettuh playuhz with the 25 scholarships.

I thought all FBS schools had the same amount of scholarships...?

They do. I'm just mad enough right now to change the rules.

They do, that's why she wants the elite teams to have reduced #'s.
Let the small schools have a chance.
Not all the 3, 4, and 5 stars can go to the big programs if they can't offer.

Oh okay, i thought she meant knock them down to the same amount we have, as if implying BSC schools had more

I think that would help close the gap for some non-BCS teams, but it would also create more depth within BCS conferences.
Kids would still want to play for the big conferences so instead of the "leftover really good players" going to the MWC, C-USA, and MAC, they would still go to the Big10, SEC, ACC, Big12, and Pac12. Instead of a kid going to sit the bench for 2 seasons at Ohio State/Michigan then play 2, kids would be playing 3 or 4 at the Indianas and Purdues.
Instead of going to Alabama and LSU, they would be going to Kentucky and Vandy.
They would still want to go to big conferences instead of the smaller ones.

jcinthekickrocks should be your name, bud

Dude is the best QB Wyoming has ever or WILL EVER have. Enjoy it. At least he was trying. Even the commentators were hating on our WRs for quitting. But they're probably discouraged from the crap line.

Just kick rocks for a cool min.
