The Good, The Bad, and The Not So Ugly.

The good-
Offense-
Minus Hill's fumble near the end of the 1st half, the offense actually did pretty well all around.
Hill- Yeah, if he's not player of the week at least for the MWC, I call hacks. Hill found holes and made them look like the Grand Canyon! Set school and conference records tonight!
Kirk- No TOs, good awareness (the 1 sack was not his fault), 320 yards passing with 2 TDs, and tough as nails too.

Overall, I have no complaints about the offense.

Defense-
Did a bit more bending at times then what I would like, but they did well too, limiting Fresno to only 17 points.
And major kudos to Finley for not only ending our INT drought, but getting 2 of them tonight.
And all that with a bunch of guys out for the season.

The Bad-
Kick and Punt coverages. This was really our only glaring problem throughout the night. Too many big returns on punts and especially kickoffs (even after we went to short kickoffs, they still got a couple of big ones).

The Ugly-
Fresno. Yep. Not Wyoming, but Fresno's team almost as a whole (aside from Waller, their RB) was downright ugly and gave us our best overall game in quite a while.

In fairness, special teams is where a team's lack of depth really gets exposed.

Understatement: (noun) the presentation of something as being smaller, worse, or less important than it actually is.

"pretty well"?? Christ man! Haha 700 YARDS!

Fresno's defense was pathetic. They had two weeks to prepare and thought the game was a slam dunk the way their players were talking. They brought up Grenlee because they thought our defense would be a perfect opportunity for their Freshman QB to get his confidence. They then came out in a six man defensive front against Bohl's "A" gap power run game. How cocky was that? Deruyter had a look on his face like he lost his wallet the entire game. That was a classic backyard ass kicking.

Perfect revenge for the last 2 years.

Oh Hell yes it definitely was! Last few years they've been hammering us. What suprised me the most was the way Fresno underestimated the Pokes.

Actually, with the exception of the goal line fumble....Wyoming's offense was flawless on nearly every drive. Shocking....yes. Exciting to watch....yes. Props to Coach Bohl on making the right changes, concocting a succesful game plan, and for getting the troops fired up and ready to play. It's been a long time coming to beat Fresno. The blowout at their house made it that much sweeter. I'll be on their board today returning the smack talk from last season. Their excuse will center around Carr's departure....lol.
