I met Lavell on several occasions. Genuine guy. He had a radio show on Fridays with Ron McBride for many years. Funny ass show. Like sitting and visiting with 2 great friends. He will be missed.

I couldn't stand that guy because of his teams, but if you look at what he was able to accomplish as a coach, you have to doff the cap and say well done.

His wife was from my hometown of Big Piney and probably related in some shape or form to some of the bywho idiot fans that I grew up around. They always claimed Piney was a special place for the zoobs and more people in town rooted for bywho than Wyoming because of his wife. Used to piss me off to no end.

That national championship was awarded by the same polls that awarded the title to all winners.
