56 points to Hawaii
That's a grand total of...259 points!
That's an average of allowing 51.8 points per game over their last 5 games.

But we got the win today and we're still bowl eligible (insert sarcasm here)

No doubt a big rivalry game. Big rivals usually go 17 years without playing and lose the trophy during that span.

Huh? They have never been a rivalry game. Back in the old wac, it was a tough place to win at, but your average Wyo. fan couldn't name one player or one coach they've ever had. I'm glad we won. But let's face it, Hawaii away from the island should be a 40 point win. I would be shocked if we didn't lose by at least 30 next week.

It's the very least I can do seeing how they scraped by a winless team playing 3250 miles from home at 7220 feet in the freezing cold and allowing 50+ for the 3rd time in the last 5 games.

I also want to compliment Jamar Cain our new DC...the uptick on defense has been very noticeable.

Don't we play Oregon next year? I think it's time to call a turd a turd. Fresno hanging 62 on NM and there's a whole quarter to go. Second straight week NM has given up more than 60. We struggled to beat NM at home. Our only good performance this year was at air farce. It really looks like Nebraska is a middle tier big 10 team. That game gave us a false sense of our ability. UNC and Idaho mean nothing. Starting with texas st., EVERY game has shown just what a piss poor team we are. My days of defending DC are over. It's obvious he either a) can't recruit or b) can't coach. It doesn't really matter at this point. In my mind, we can't get any worse. Csewe getting shut out today and they get 50 on us. Unacceptable.

Lol like someone said, 17 years without playing, and losing the trophy doesn't mean we are a rival.
Yes Wyo and Hawaii were at one point rivals, and may be in the next few years, but I guarantee you that in the Wyo locker room there was NO talk about "It's Hawaii week, we do not lose to them". And Hawaii fans were not saying "Throw records out in this big time rivalry, it's on!"

Maybe in a few years, sure, but now, come on, this is not a rivalry.

Thing is, historically we don't. It's pretty one-sided in our favor. We own Hawaii both here and on Oahu. The Paniolo Trophy is more of a token of recognition of the novelty of the geographic disparity.

Smith (and Herron, along with a few others) had a fantastic game. Smith put up numbers it's unlikely he'll ever match or beat the rest of his career, however long it may be.

However, this game was as ugly as it gets. Our defense is beyond abysmal. If I was Cain, I'd seriously be calling them all out along the lines of, "Why do you guys even bother showing up? What's it take to pull a scholarship?" If my dog was that defense, I'd shave his ass and make him walk backwards.

Unless our o-line is as inspired by Smith's play today as Smith and Herron were, next week could be very deflating against a very physical USU d-line and LB's.
