The burman plan for poor athletics

Volleyball is 1-5 in mountain west play, soccer has not won a mountain west match yet. Cowboy football has started 0-3 at War Memorial Stadium, for the first time in thirty five years. The state money is working great. Seven years of the burman plan, are not working, nothing will change in the burman plan in the next seven years. Without state money burman would not be able to bring power house programs like okalahoma panhandle state, western state, north carolina central, into the arena auditorium. :rofl:
 
Wyoming Fishing can't even tell us what he'd do different.. but he did offer us up a list of cartoon characters that he would hire as AD.

To be fair, all those potential candidates have won as many MW conference titles as Burman.
 
I only agree about the lack of strength of quality opponents not coming to Laramie anymore! We need one quality team year in and year out coming to Laramie for BB...especially to be considered in going to the NCAA's if we qualify some year, instead of playing podunk U year in and year out
 
How about some posts about something other than your hate for Burman? That would be refreshing.

Granted, we all know that Burman is far from being a visionary...but that is a product of working with limited resources, in a limited capacity, in what he percieves as the smalltime. You know, "competing with programs that have similar athletic budgets" instead of trying to grow.

Instead of attacking the poster as a troll-address the issue being raised or don't post.
Ask yourself:
A) Is UW athletics better off now than when Burman took over?
B) Is there a vision articulated within a strategic plan that has been put on place to put UW back on the path to regional if not national competitiveness enjoyed before Burman took over?
C) IF the answer to either or both of the above questions is no...who should be held accountable?

Wyoalum1987 is wyo fishing....

also the lack of strength of bball schedule is largley part to shyatt. he wants them to have some cup cakes in the first couple seasons so the team can get some W's and get confidence

it will only get harder...
I am willing to bet if we have some nice recruiting years and some nice MWC finishes that we end up scheduling osme big10 or sec teams in the somewhat near future

Listen here Buckaroo. It is better now than when Burman took over. We are in a growing phase, and one of the fastest ones in the country. And that's not just athletics, but the whole Uni. New buildings, new athletic facilities, rennovations. Our past AD's weren't touching any of this. I think the most an AD previous to Burman spent on our facilities was putting up lights in the Stadium, taking out our endzone seats and replacing them with picnic tables. Big spenders. And he is hitting every athletic program. Tennis courts, soccer, Basketball (arena rennovations), and football. And I think he has three good coaches at the helm of our top athletic programs: Shyatt, Legerski and Christensen. Have patience and wait and see.
To all the Shyatt fans, who all in here would be ready to fire Shyatt if basketball has a similar theme to the next three years like DC and football. Or is he not building something up that was destroyed by Schroyer? DC is buidling something up that was destroyed both by Dimel, Vic and Glenn...The only reason Glenn is because he left NOTHING on the roster for DC.
