I'm not sure why folks are complaining about USU running up the score. USU was playing for 4 quarters, like you are supposed to. Last time I checked there is no "mercy rule" in D1 FBS football. Would you be happier if the final had been 31-0 instead of 58-27? Still the same number of points, but would you be bitching about 31 points as running up the score?

Personally, I could care less if a team piles it on or not. My opinion doesn't matter. What matters is what Bohl thinks, and if Bohl doesn't like it, then he needs to do something about it. Maybe recruit the JUCO ranks for a year or two and get a mix of young kids and some older kids with experience. Bohl's plan is Bohl's plan - he chose to throw his lot in with a bunch of freshmen. If it works he looks like a genius, if it doesn't he's just another FCS coach who couldn't get it done in Laramie.

But don't blame the other guys for kicking our asses. That's all on Bohl, his assistants and the Cowboys. :twocents:

The backups were in. It's not running up the score.

As for playing Wyoming every year, enjoy it while you can. Utags will return to where they belong just like Fresno

Teams do get beat on the road and by large margins at times. Or in the case of CSU, UNLV, and Hawaii...get beat at home by large margins. If we are a low level FCS team, so if half our conference because they also got blow out. That is your logic.

I'll hand it to Utah State for making up for their piss poor performance at SDSU. Our young team, that is struggling with depth, got worn out. Because of this, they got blown out. Hopefully this will continue to light the fire for these young players to work hard and get better.

This is a rebuilding year and most fans know there would be struggles. This is the first game in the past 5 where the Pokes took a step back and didn't beat the spread. Doesn't change one thing about this season.

+1 Not complaining about RUTS at all, that didn't happen, but Utag players seemed like a bunch of BYU wannabe asshats. No teams celebrate like cocky aholes more than BYU & Utags. So much for like acting like you've been there before. Must be something in the Utah water.

STOP complaining about the score! It is Freaking D1 college football. Don't like it? Then Stop it! I think someone on this thread already eluded to that statement. It drives me crazy, even at the high school varsity level, when people complain about running up the score. Look at the other side of things .......the ones that are being successful have prepared their whole life to play this game. Why should you punish them because the other team is bad, or has not prepared to succeed. Just two nights ago Theo Dawson from Jackson High School ran up 489 yards rushing and 5 TDs in a single game and now holds the single game rushing record in the state of Wyoming. Should they have sat him because they were winning? Hell no! That is a moment that he will have the rest of his life and some propose that he shouldn't have been in the game because they were beating up n Riverton? Come on people that is what is wrong with Wyoming in general......we want to be good but when someone who has paid the price and turned their program around stomps our ass we bitch and moan about it! If it bothers you, then do something about it or drop to DII and talk about how good you could have been! #Idiotsamongus

I absolutely agree Slow Hand. The final score was 58-27, not 58-0. This was no where near as bad as, say going for an onside kick when you're up 43-0. Stop them from scoring, don't expect them to call off the dogs and risk hurting someone because they are playing half-assed.

You can criticize, rationalize, or marginalize all you want, but what you can't do is change the fact that we are currently a mid-level, at best, FCS team and likely closer to the bottom end of FCS. Otherwise, we'd beat low level FCS teams at home.

I was trying to give us the benefit of the doubt. Also, I thought it would go like this: we would be underdogs to the top end of FCS regardless of where we played. We might be favored against some mid-level FCS teams when we play at home. We should be favored against low-level FCS at home and a pick 'em on the road.

With that said, we got plastered by a low-level FCS team at home, so, yeah, we are much closer to low level FCS right now.
