Ted Gilmore

Here's another name I believe we should give a long hard look to.... Ted Gilmore.

A Wyoming alum, he's been all over and part of some big time programs. He was the assistant HC at Nebraska, spent time at USC, and is currently with the Oakland Raiders.

Talk about a guy who could sell this program and gets the UW culture. He was interested the last time around, if he is this time we should definitely give him a look!

I see there is a Facebook page to hire Ted Gilmore... It already has quite a few likes.

I have already noticed in one day that quite a few people on this board throw out a name and there's 5 or 6 responses that it would be bad. No matter who gets hired somebody is not going to be happy.

I haven't been intrigued by many names yet but this one has intrigued me the most if he could get a quality staff around him.

The guys i want are defense coaches. Tired of the O Coords.

I don't want a defense or offense guy. I want a head coach who can surround himself with the appropriate offense and defense guys. Gilmore has a background different from anything we've tried before, if he's up for it and can get the right people, why not give him a shot.

I know for a fact that the alumni that played for Gilmore are going to bat for him. I heard this before the Fresno game

I'm all for an "NFL" guy or at least someone that can sell recruits on the "I can work with you to get you to the next level" angle.

Dimel was an OC,

And a pool shark...

I find it ironic and fitting that when he had "fun" with a barmaid, it was the beginning of the end of Wyoming football.

Hope Tedford or whoever can save the program but I got a bad feeling about this.

That is why part of me hopes we can hire Petrino (who wouldn't be available other than his mistress incident). Then we can adopt a country song line for our motto (assuming Petrino is hired and wins):

"Love got me in here and love got me out"
