THE MWC IS SCREWED AGAIN!!!!! :brick:

Might as well merge with what's left of the WAC or grab Hawaii.

No sense worrying about it, kind of out of our hands.'

There is a silver lining in tcu leaving, it instantly makes us competive in our conference. I really don't even care if they leave and I don't really care who we play. Only thing I care about is winning and competing for conference championships. At least we get some BCS money for either them or Utah before they leave.

There is NO silver lining if they leave. No TCU, no shot in hell of ever getting the BCS AQ spot from piss-poor Big East!!!!

I want National Championships!!! Not excuses!!!!!!!!!

I want National Championships!!! Not excuses!!!!!!!!!

Wyoming will never compete for national championship. Neither will 90 teams plus unless NCAA makes a playoff somehow. For that matter I am sure TCU and Boise can't compete for a National title right now, the system is made for them not to. Right now I wish we competed for conference championships, but we haven't for fifteen years. I think we should worry about a conference championship before we worry about getting to a BCS or National title game, and if TCU leaves that actually makes us a little closer to that goal.

So, by letting TCU leave, you're O.K. with not seeing a MWC school in a BCS bowl game at ALL? 'Cos as soon as Peterson leaves Boise State, that's EXACTLY is what's going to happen.

We need the $$ from BCS Bowl appearances. Not table scraps!!!!!!!

I really hate the thought of a WAC/MWC merger... our rep will take a hit.

If TCU leaves, that's probably what's going to happen.

Get ready for trips to....

Honolulu (to get blown out by 60+ points every year until our defense finally shows UP!)
San Jose
San Marcos, TX (Texas State is about to join the WAC)
Las Cruces, NM

etc....

Ya I would be ok with no MWC team in a BCS bowl game if Wyoming was the champion of the league. One question though, if a team goes undefeated and ends up in the top 12 doesn't the BCS rules say that team gets a bcs bowl?

I also think that Wyoming has a better shot of running the table during a season if they don't play the utah's and tcu's who are established programs. If you run the table a few times then you end up building a program and getting shots at BCS bowls. Isn't that how Boise built their program and isn't that the model Tom Burman wants to follow?

And yes I agree with you it will hurt to lose BCS money that teams like utah and tcu bring in, my solution serve start serving beer. Serve beer at UW games and we will have enough money to hire Bill Parcell.

At least we would get three wins a year out of those and 9-10 wins season would be a lot more of a reality

I don't believe this!!!!

You rather see this conference go down to the level of Sun Belt than be better than the Big EAST????!!!!!!!!!

No wonder we look being mediocre 'cos that's EXACTLY what we'll be. Mediocre and no VISION for a brighter future!!!!

Guess the the geezers on GWG were right our best days WERE in the 1960s!!!!!!!!!!

For now, YEAH! But there's no guarantee the BCS will keep that rule!!!!!!!!!!

All this conference expansion talk makes my head spin. Geographically, these new conferences are so messed up. Give it a year, and somehow Florida will end up in the Pac-361 and Alabama will have left for the NFL.

I am a fan of the MWC, but I am a Wyoming fan first and it is not even a close race. If the best thing for Wyoming is to get as close as possible to an undefeated season than I have no problem being more like the sunbelt/wac/mac than the big east. Fact is Boise built a program from playing shitty competion in the WAC and if Wyoming could follow that same recipe to success than I am all for it.

I don't understand how this benefits TCU. First, they are not a basketball school, which the big east primarily is. Second, their travel costs will be astronomical not just for football and bb, but all the non revenue producing sports. Finally, what kind of rivalries do they hope to have? Are fans going to come out to watch them play Syracuse or Connecticut? The big east is the worst conference to have AQ status and who knows how long they will keep it. TCU would be much better off in the big 12.

One thing is for sure, this expansion stuff is all about looking out for your own a$$. Fresno and Nevada ditch the WAC to save themselves, screwing others in the process. TCU? They essentially did the same exact thing to the MWC. Do they stay put and hope the MWC gains AQ-status? Nope, they grab the first lifeline they see and run with it. I want to call them all cowardly, but any school would do it. Clearly the BCS wants nothing to do with these non-BCS conferences. This is no doubt a major blow to any playoff theory.

What a corrupt game college football is.

/fail. The Big East is totally irrelevant in college football.

I agree, TCU will end up complaining about the BCS again after the MWC still ends up taking their AQ.

They must really be scared of Boise.

Boise St, SDSU, AFA, Wyoming, Nevada, Fresno, CSU is still better than the Big East with TCU and Houston.

I think this move will destroy their baseball program, look for that coach to leave for a real baseball conference opening.

You guys are talking as though its a done deal. I didnt read it that way at all and I have read NOTHING that can honestly say TCU wants to leave
