Tailgating - stadium atmosphere

Anyone think they'll reverse the decision to move the tailgating back outside next season where it should be? The West side of the stadium is absolutely dead now that they've eliminated Tailgate Park...it has become a depressing scene to me. While other schools have the smell of food and drink in the air and a festive atmosphere all around their stadiums during pre-game, we have for some reason a tailgate going on under the cover of secrecy on a gorgeous day in Laramie yesterday. It's an awful look for us, it does nothing to enhance the environment, and I'm sure opposing fans are walking around the stadium and asking themselves where the hell all the Wyoming fans are? It also does nothing for the branding of Wyoming football or the Wyoming football experience.

Also it appears as though many of our feelings concerning the constant LOUD NON-STOP MUSIC that was evident during the home opener has been rectified and normalcy has returned to The War, with less in the way of music, almost the total elimination of rap-crap, and an emphasis on the band, so someone there agreed with many of us.

Lastly, does anyone know who the stadium PA Announcer is?

NOTE:
At the stadium Brown & Gold store, they sell a very nice looking GOLD Wyoming football jersey...even though we don't wear a Gold uniform top. No Brown tops, no white road tops. Color me confused.

Tailgating may have its place late in the season during bad weather happening in the IPF. Other than that there is no excuse, none at all for eliminating tailgate park. Who the hell made that piss poor decision to begin with? Tar and feathers I say. Other than that I don't have an opinion.

Piss poor? BURMAN strikes again. Indoor tailgating when its 75 degrees outside in Laramie is a fucking joke.

The tailgating isn't half bad once you are out in the parking lots ( Brown lot and summit view). The indoor stuff is what the blue hairs want, along with a "cowboy tough" run for two the first two downs, pass, and punt offense. Don't want anyone getting to excited. Having fun outside pre-game and passing on first downs can be bad for your health.

If you need the university to sponsor your tailgating you are doing it wrong.

Seemed warmer than 75 degrees yesterday but...look it, if you want to go inside for your tailgate experience (which is awful imo) then go right ahead - but why close down Tailgate Park? I'm on of those fans that believe tailgating should take place in all weather and elements. Yesterday it was broiling, in a few weeks it might be frigid. Soldier on. Or is it; Cowboy Tough?

Dino, I don't think we are disagreeing. I just think most of the tailgating occurs in the parking areas after the park was shut down.Tailgating should never be inside IMHO, even in cold weather. It is more fun to be out in one of the lots playing catch or cornhole , with your own beer, and your own grill.

Yes, we agree completely on this.

I'm a bluehair - I never go into the IPF for tailgate either. Get your facts straight when you blame it on the bluehairs. If you want to blame it on the admin, go right ahead. The ones that tough it out through all kinds of weather are mostly the bluehairs.

Agree 100% with Yabadino. 100%. Tailgating needs to be outside, at least through the first 4 games, if not all.

My thought: I am not sure it would be too fucking difficult to check the weather every day up until Thursday of each game-week, and announce to fans whether tailgate will be held in the grass outside (south of the fieldhouse), or we are going to puss-out and be in the IPF. Not a tough thing to make happen.

On a similar / side-note: I can't believe UW decided it was a great idea to allow the traffic (drinks / food / etc.) on the turf of the IPF. That doesn't make much sense.

I'm not sure why we call it the IPF still, it doesn't seem to host many practices anymore. I agree that the tailgating atmosphere is almost always better outside as opposed to inside. Trying not to play devil's advocate, but I tried to think of some positives/reasoning behind hosting tailgating in the IPF.
1. The Cowboy Walk was pretty embarrassing when the majority of tailgaters were on the complete other side of the stadium. Having a large number of fans in the IPF that can easily come outside to salute the players on the way in to the stadium is a better experience than only passing by a few RV's in the parking lot. (A fair question to ask is should we even continue the cowboy walk).
2. I think we're all aware of the piss poor communication from our athletic department. They can't advertise for things with months of preparation, so do we really think they can make a decision just a few days before gameday about where something should be held due to weather, etc. and effectively get that information out to the fanbase??
My idea: I think the main reason to move tailgate park to the IPF (besides weather) was to bring fans closer together. So, instead of moving tailgate park closer to the RV's why can't we move the RV's closer to the grass field? Like outside the gateway center?
