Tackling

It's the entire defense...I have never seen a team with as poor technique and an inability to win the line of scrimmage as often as the WYOMING defense...it's dispiriting.

By far the worst tackling team I think I have ever seen. No one even tries to tackle. They just try to strip and give up huge gains

Don't forget Wacha and Nzeosha. They were both pretty solid as well.
They also had a couple of plays where Carrier ran straight through their arms...
Still.....the early TO's they created were the difference.

Just got back. And defense is really bi-polar. Several times they had 3 and outs or got turnovers and played well, other times they forgot they were on the field.

Here's another vote for our tackling is worse then most high school teams.

Why the hell do we drill stripping the ball and we don't drill fundamental tackling? I could care less if you've been taught to fundamental tackle during pop warner, middle school, and high school. If you aren't doing it on the field, everybody has to do it in practice until people at least start making the effort.

1. Hit them on their beltline.
2. Get your arms around them and wrap up.
3. Lift em up and drive them down.

It's like we've completely sacrificed the most fundamental part of defensive football for the 1 in 100 chance that stripping the ball might work.

We need to pull our heads out of our asses or we are going to lose to CSU.

We held the #1 Rushing Team in the country to 100 yards under their average, You guys will never be happy.

I'm usually pretty positive when I support the Pokes. I hardly jump on the negativity bandwagon.

When I see tackling like that, over and over, for three or four seasons in a row, I get pissed. Yarborough looked great. Everybody else: not so much.

Wyoming may have held New Mexico under their rushing numbers but how about their passing numbers?

New Mexico for the year averaged 76 yards a game passing but today they were able to throw for 179 yards. So doesn't matter if you hold them under their rushing average if you are going to give it right back up in the passing game. Glad we got the win but Boise St., Fresno St. and San Jose St. will gash us through the air if the defense keeps playing like that. I guess we will still go to a bowl game though at 7-5 or 6-6.

Some of you would be pissed if you won a lottery because the number wasn't your favorite number, I give up on you guys.

I'm glad we won, and I have noted that the defense did look good on some series, but other series, its like they forgot what they were doing.

Offense, too many stalled drives. And when we kicked the FG, we really should have had a TD, but the great MWC refs once again screwed the pooch on blantantly obvious pass intereference on New Mexico.

Nonetheless, its a win, we're 4-2 and 2-0 in conference. I'll take it.

I'm honestly mostly okay with what our defense did. I thought we'd win this game if we got 2-3 stops on defense, because our offense should've scored on pretty much every drive.

Instead, we won because of the turnovers the defense forced, not because the offense kept scoring. Sure we still scored quite a few points, but we should've scored many more.
