Looks like the video's gone

I was listening to SVP today and he said that he would love to go to the game but essentially decided to stay home with his family instead of traveling across the country for the game.

He kind of back peddled over himself because the AD was going to fly him and his family to the game and he finally said that he couldn't take off on a whim to go. He said thank you for the offer and for being so willing to accommodate him but that it wouldn't be fair to his family.

Hope he comes out someday but at worst we have gotten some pub from him over the years.

Kudos to the AD and staff! He may not be coming but it was brilliant marketing and they probably made a connection where SVP will be inclined to come to a game sometime and perhaps bring Rusillo and others.

Listen to these guys every day............actually sort of upset. But nice to get some pub

didn't hear that part.......although the Carl's Stone Cold Lock of The Century...of the week...............

Here is Scott's response to Wyoming's offer.

Good and Bad, Russilo seemed a little bent that he didn't get the offer when he was one of the main people that started talking about Wyoming and at the end he said he would just need to find a new team.

Now that comment might not have been Wyoming related but something tells me it was. It's pretty cool that the offer was made and would have been really cool had both of them been invited.

SVP was caught short that Wyoming called his bluff. Tom was ready to send the State's business jet to get him and his family for an all expense-paid trip to Laramie to see the Pokes pound the cadets. Given that ESPN is carrying the game SVP could have chalked it up to a business trip. Too bad SVP, you blew it.

Even though I can't stand the previous track record, I have to give credit to ADTB (and SID TH) where it's due - impressive finding a way to make it happen. Would've been great exposure! Incredibly weak on SVP's part to bitch out - what a puss. Big talk no substance!

I can't say I blame the guy. If you listen to him regularly, you would know last weekend he missed his wife's birthday because he was on the road for a game. They also had a baby recently, so I'm sure he (and his wife) take advantage of weekends ESPN doesn't have him going somewhere. Hopefully he can make a game down the road.

I thought it was interesting he said "maybe Wyoming fans should be concerned about your athletics budget because your AD was willing to fly a bum like me out for a game."

Surprised no Burman haters have picked up on this...

The exposure for the program would be worth it. Craig Bohl has national cache so it's really smart to exploit it as much as possible to help recruiting. Complaining about it would just show that you don't understand.

Exactly, while it would have cost a decent amount, the publicity it would have brought to UW would have been easily worth it.

I don't blame him for not taking it all things considered. He stepped up and actually admitted that he had a bunch of excuses.

That said, why not open up the offer for some other weekend?

They talked about Wyoming for roughly 8 minutes over the 2 days on air. I imagine 8 minutes worth of national commercial air time on espn radio is worth more than the flight cost. Chalk it up to the marketing budget.
