Svboda named starting QB for next year

GOOD!!! Need to commit to a talent that has an incredible ceiling. This kid had all the tangibles to be a big time QB. Hopefully this staff can do something with him before he hits the portal.

Agreed. It’s like a second shot at having Josh Allen. Svoboda could ultimately struggle but he is another generational athletic talent.

I mean, it is objectively odd timing. Don't have to publicly announce it (especially this early) in order to keep him from transferring; those conversations can be (and are usually) handled behind closed doors until a later date. You don't generally see coaches officially, publicly naming next year's starters before the current season is even technically finished...and there's a few reasons for that.

However, that doesn't mean it's a bad decision. Lol.

I'm excited to see what he can do. Hopefully he stays healthy (and out of trouble) until then.

That actually makes me more concerned.

Be real embarrassing for everyone involved if we changed systems and Svoboda, for whatever reason, doesn't master it fast enough to play at a competitive level. Lol.

I like it as it sets the table for next season. He probably was getting some feelers from other teams .Sawvel at least wanted to have the QB spot solid as he no doubt knew the OC was leaving and wanted to have some sort of certainty on the direction the offense was going into spring practice.

How about a good old fashioned competition? A lot can change in a year’s time

Ordinarily, I'd agree with you. But with NIL, the rules are different. I've heard the csewe qb has received a mid 6 figure NIL offer. It's hard to believe. But, we are going to have to adjust to this free agency type atmosphere at the college level.

Man that’s crazy. The sheep QB is a replacement level player

One thing is for sure though, Svboda has a physique that few men on planet earth will ever attain. Holy shit the dude is jacked.

I can’t post the picture here, but look at his arms, my lord

Here's the story on the sheep qb. Have no idea if the source is credible. But the number is insane.

I think when the split happens, tv and other external revenue dries up for WYO's level/division which should moderate this nil stuff. Still lose the best players to the portal but will stabilize the rest.

For the announcement, I'm sure(hope) it will change if Spring Ball reveals a better option. Obviously Spring Ball can confirm the decision. I guess I take it as lip service at this point.
