I will believe it when I see it.
That dude looked like he weighed 110 pounds last season.
Agreed. The guy was a toothpick last year. I'm sure the staff has been working hard on him in the weight room, but he needs to add 40 pounds in a bad way.
I saw him at the end of the semester and he still looked like a twig. He plays an athletic style which will make up a little bit for being undersized, but he will get killed by stronger big men in man-to-man defense. Hopefully he works hard this summer to get bigger. The good news is the 2-3 match-up zone can help hide some of his weaknesses.

Just what the doctor ordered.

Cowboy hoops are going to be fun. We are being dismissed (even laughed at) by the rest of the MWC right now. Let's see how they feel about us at the end of the season.

Haha Sellers made quick work of him? Wait til Mr. Nance comes back. Wait til you hear the AA chanting LARRY LARRY LARRY. That is when you know it's big time.

I Hop this team is set up well. I'm guessing that a couple of freshman will make the position. The other three should red shirt. That's sets us up well for next season as we'll have four new scholarships filled, so we'll be able to red shirt a couple of those guys.

At this point it all depends on Nance really.
Wyo could be anywhere from 6th to 11th in the MWC without Larry and like 17-15 overall. With Larry, they could be a legit Top 25 team and win the MWC.

The set up depends on whether Larry is good to go. If he is, and showing no signs of injury, there will not be much need to play these younger guys. If Larry is hurt, then we might want to play them.

Swedish national team experience prepares Aka Gorski for Wyoming

Alexander Aka Gorski is indebted to those who cut him.

Without them, the 6-foot-5 freshman guard might never have made it to Laramie. Without three years of frustration, he might not have been given the opportunity to play four more in the Mountain West.

When he was 15 years old, Aka Gorski -- a native of Lund, Sweden -- began playing with the Swedish national team. And to his own dismay, he fell into a nightmarish routine. With the Swedish under-16 team, Aka Gorski would train in the time leading up to each major tournament.

Update on Conway and Malek Harwell. I think Conway is the guy that is going to bring Billy ball to altitude.

"Wyoming did well to lock up three-star point guard Austin Conway early. Conway checks in at around 5-foot-9, but he has serious speed. In fact, Conway is as fast with the ball as any point guard in the country and his football background shows in his toughness. He is a bulldog defender and can take his team from defense to offense in a hurry."

Thought it was just me.

Conway is the rare recruit that has sound basketball fundamentals, raw athleticism, and high character off the court. Athletes with all of those qualities are highly successful more often than not.

It's always hard to predict future athletic success, but it's been a very long time since I've been this excited about a UW basketball recruit. I truly believe he has a legitmate shot to be a Cowboy great by the time his career is complete.

I'm looking forward to the day he signs his letter of intent!

UW men's basketball gets verbal commitment from Florida power forward

The University of Wyoming men's basketball team received a verbal commitment Tuesday from 6-foot-8 power forward Andrew Moemeka from Lake City, Florida.

Moemeka visited UW the last couple of days and returned home to Florida Tuesday afternoon. Moemeka will enroll at UW in the fall of 2015.

UPDATE: UW men's basketball gets commitment from Florida power forward

"I really liked the coaching staff and the players, and I just thought (Wyoming) was a really good deal for me," said Moemeka during a phone interview Wednesday afternoon.

"There are not distractions around there, so there is no way I can get into any trouble if I'm doing everything I need to be doing."

Moemeka said he had a good connection with another of UW's Florida players -- true freshman forward Tyrell Williams from Miami.

Wow, I can't remember a time when Wyoming had this many early commits. I have a feeling we're going to be really choosy and specific with the last scholarship.

UW men's basketball lands commitment from prep big man from California

The University of Wyoming received its second verbal commitment this week for its 2014-15 recruiting class when 6-foot-9, 220-pound post Jordan Naughton from Rancho Cucamonga, California committed late Wednesday night.

"Excited to say that I've verbally committed to the University of Wyoming," said Naughton on his Twitter account.

Naughton visited UW over the last few days. He will be a senior at Etiwanda High this fall.

Scout.com gave Naughton a two-star rating out of five. It also ranks Naughton as the 36th-best recruit in California for 2015.

Scouting Report: Wyoming basketball PF commit Jordan Naughton

I spoke with Etiwanda High School head basketball coach Dave Kleckner on Thursday afternoon about his 6-foot-9 big man, Jordan Naughton, who verbally committed to Wyoming on Wednesday night.

Kleckner, who served as an assistant on former Wyoming head coach Jim Brandenburg's staff at San Diego State, has seen his share of productive interior players.

If he develops in Laramie, Naughton could soon join that list.

An interview with Alexander AKA(the bomber, Alexander the Great, White Men Can Jump, The Crowns Three....I digress) Gorski.

I haven't seen a lot of press on him yet. I think he can have as big of an impact as any of the new recruits.
